Not much changed for the Chevy Express passenger van in 2006. The vehicle that could double as an airport shuttle bus has 8, 12, and 15 seat configurations. In addition, the Express sports 3 powertrains: a 4.3 L, 195 hp V6, a 5.3 L, 295 hp V8, and a 6.0 L, 300 hp V8. All 5 trims have 4 speed automatic transmission.
Gas mileage generally ranges from 14 mpg in the city and 19 on the highway. Max towing capacity goes from 6100 to 9800 lbs. depending on the trim. 4 of the 5 have rear wheel drive and the final trim has all wheel drive.
Overall, reviewers like the Express's relatively modern design, wide powertrain selection, and passenger considerations. On the other hand, handling could use some work. The Chevrolet Express would make a solid choice for any large family on the go.
I have a 2006 Chevy express 2500 van and when I shut it off take the key out and open the door sometimes the interior light won’t come on and the radio doesn’t turn off? When I play around with the door latch on the drivers door or the passenger door it will then turn on the light and turn off the radio. Also I have a alarm system and during the night sometimes the alarm will check itself like someone was trying to open the door.
What is cause for overheating? Thermostat or water pump. Any advice on how to fix or diagnose the problem?
i have a 2006 chevy express 2500. Its having some issues. 1st, its randomly hard-starting. after cranking it for 4 or 5 seconds, itll run like crap until i feather the gas pedal. then when i rev the engine. theres a puff of dark smoke. second issue is when im driving it, regardless of speed, the temp gauge will drop all the way to cool and the ride gets really jerky and unsmooth. sometimes the guage will go back to normal on its own and the van will run fine. other times, i have to put it neutral and rev the engine to get the temp to pop back up to normal. anybody have any ideas as to what this might be? thanks in advance -charlie
can i mix a can of lithium oil spray ın 5w30 and change the oil then.. chevy 6.0 ..
