My 2005 volvo XC90 pulls to the left when i press the brakes ?? I have no real power when i press tje gas ?? It fells like it's struggling to accelerate ??

The big news this year was the addition of a V8, the first in Volvo's history. The engine was developed expressly for the XC90 by Yamaha via Ford, since no existing Ford V8 was an appropriate fit for this SUV. This is because in order to maintain their own safety standards for displacement in collisions, Volvo's engines must be transversely installed.
The new trim, boasting 311 horsepower, quieted complaints from the two previous model years that the SUV was underpowered. The three existing trims were still made: the 2.5T, 2.5T AWD, and the T6.
As always, each Volvo is built with occupant safety the priority. Standard features on all XC90 trims include airbags, ABS, stability control, traction control, multi-zone climate control, daytime running lights, power-adjustable heated exterior mirrors (now with water-repellent glass), automatic transmission with manual shift function, trip computer, rain-sensing windshield wipers and fog lights. The backseat will accommodate adults comfortably, but the third seat (standard in the V8 but an option in the other trims) is best for children.
Two new metallic paint finishes were available in 2005: Magic Blue and Titanium Grey.

I just bought this car for one dollar for the clear title. The car had one owner who babied it for 17 years. It has 330,000. miles on the engine and still runs GREAT! I had the engine compression checked and its OK. No oil leaks and no knocks. Its a cruiser on the freeway. I am wondering if I should get a refurbished engine of the same kind and insert it into this car. The body inside and out are undamaged and the original paint job still shines. Comments anyone? This car rides the road better than my Nissan Pathfinder.Feb 04, 2022

Love the car,just don't need all the space anymore. This suv is a well built vehicle with lots of power. the great thing is it only burns regular gas. It is clean inside and out. Rides better and is quieter than my hubby's Lexus.May 21, 2012

Love the car. We have had 3 volvos in the past and consider them to be the safest car on the road. With car gurus I was able to find this auto at a price that was very fair. The dealership was wonderful and very professional. I would recomend Orlando Landrover to anyone buying a car.Nov 24, 2009

If you value performance, then this is not the car for you. The 2.5T is a small engine for something so big, so performance is nothing to write home about. It was not designed to be a performance car. 0-60 mph takes 11 seconds or so. Around corners, it rolls heavily and throttle will result in serious understeer. The steering is as vague as it gets. The first half an inch or so of steering in either direction from center does nothing at all.
However, if performance is not your top priority, then this is an excellent car in terms of practicality and comfort. The ride is quite soft. The seats are fairly comfortable. There isn't too much road or tire noise. It can seat 7 people, though the two seats in the very back have little legroom. Those are best left for the children. With the seats folded down, there is plenty of room for cargo, enough for something like a small couch. The split tailgate is a nice touch and makes loading heavy items easier.Aug 05, 2009

The D5 was to small for this heavy car. But it was a dream in the winter and long-journeys. The build quality was not very good, other Volvo models seems to have better quality! Maybe a T6 engine would fit the car better?Jan 01, 2009

Very nice, very usefull. I had to change my 250 000 km XC70, then I asked myself the car I'll buy. I hesitated between the Cayenne, the Q7, the Touareg and the XC90. My wife refused the Cayenne : to "show off", the Q7 was to big for parking place, then the Volvo naturally became an obviousness.Aug 11, 2008

2005 XC90 Trans issue.
I have a 2005 Volvo XC90, the trans occassionally slips going into 2nd, and sometimes while in 2nd, mostly that's the most common gear that has had issues. But recently I'll be taking off from a dead stop and it won't go, also occasionally gets stuck in 3rd gear and can't shift up or down in manual mode. I'll shut it off and restart it after just a few seconds and it will act normal, but only for a couple minutes, then back to slipping or just not wanting to go. So I'll shut it off and restart again and again it will act normal for a few minutes. This is the strangest transmission issue I have ever experienced, as normally a failed transmission will act failed continuously, not seem normal after shutting off for a few seconds and restarting. So this really has me stumped.
