The 2005 Ford Econoline Cargo Van is a sturdy, rugged van designed for commercial use. With a hauling capacity of 236.1 cubic feet (275.1 cubic feet in the Extended version), the Econoline is the classic American workhorse full-size van.
Three trims were available for the '05 Econoline Cargo: the basic E-150, as well as the tougher E-250 and E-350 Super Duty. The E-150 was offered only in the standard length, with a 138-inch wheelbase; the E-250 and E-350 Super Duty were offered in both regular and extended versions.
The 2005 Econoline Cargo van is based on Ford's popular F-Series pickup truck line, and like its truck counterparts, it offered some powerful engine options. The E-150 and E-250 came off the line with a 4.6-liter V8; drivers could upgrade to a 5.4-liter V8. The E-350 SD came standard with the 5.4-liter V8, and upgrades to a 6.0-liter turbodiesel V8 or a 6.8-liter V10 were available.

I have a 2005 E 350 Cargo Van with the 6.0 PSD. It has a 35 gallon fuel tank, 4.10 gear and AOD transmission. I do a LOT of long distance trips with little to no towing. As bad as I hate having to stop for fuel, and as bad as it makes me feel to fill up my tank at a place that I know is gouging me, just because my tank is empty and there is no other competition around that sells diesel, I'm wanting to add a 55 gallon E 450 shuttle van fuel tank to my E 350. Then, IF there is ever bargain fuel, I can stock up and save a buck or two. Has anyone ever done this conversion and what is involved? I have located the tank, straps and filler neck with cap. Now, the hard part. I know I'll need an electric fuel tank selector solenoid valve, fuel lines, possibly a guage that reads the level in both tanks and no telling what else. Is there anyone out there who can enlighten me?
best shocks for ride quality? I was thinking the bilsteins but i'm unsure which model. the b6 (c) seems good, but they only have a rear. i drive this van 3 hrs./day in los angeles traffic. looking for comfort, not hauling or towing. 211,000 miles! i haul only a couple hundred lbs. daily and tow a small enclosed trailer only 10 times per year
