I just love the 5 series, specially the 525. I think is a good value. The other model I love is the 740i. Expensive repair is something breaks but keeping a good maintenance is a key to long lasting vehicle.Apr 09, 2020

This is my 5th BMW. Awesome ride - smooth and quick. The engine is very powerful.
The sound system is thrilling.
Features that I like - Bluetooth, extended seats, climate package, parking distance system
Cons - mileage ; not bad compared to other gas guzzlers

Like everything, love the cost of maintaining it. It looks good it is very comfortable. Has heated seats that are great in the winter., comfortable leather seating. The car drives so smooth you hardly know you are moving. In fact, I have had 8 speeding tickets in 2 years as a result of the how smooth this car drives. I love this car, how it feels, handles & accelerates. Braking is awesome and
spent a day on the track with a pro on how to drive really really fast. The
only think that bugs me about the car are the squeaky door seals. It is

Top notch sport sedan, plenty of power at all revs, excellent brakes and solid handling for a two ton ride. Nice seats, could use a few more features for a car of this price range. 24mpg on the highway, gas guzzler around town. Its a luxyrious car with high comfort. The acceleration is good and the car has some coool features. Its always nice to drive a 6 geared car. The negative thing is that It uses much fuel, but its still a very fun car to drive!

Cupholders suck! The I-drive takes some getting used to. Mileage is good, I average 27 mpg, car handles very tight. It's a very good car and I would buy another BMW. Service department treats you like a queen! Havent had to pay for a thing!!Sep 14, 2009

Performance - very adequate but not outrageous
Build Quality - It's a Bimmer for g-ds sake
Appearance - Orient Blue Mettalic... it looks gorgeous with the tan interior and tinted windows
Cost of Ownership - most everything is still under warranty and the service from the dealer has been nothing short of outstanding
Fun Factor - a blast to drive fast... the car gets smaller and tighter as you get to highway speeds but it's never frenetic or fidgety.Jun 14, 2009

Its pretty fun to drive in any weather condition, but it can make do with a better soundtrack from the engine and more torque. It looks like every other 5-series too. The brakes are pretty good, but this is not a track car. May 14, 2009

Best car I've ever owned so far. SMG tranny makes for improved performance. Car performed exceptionally well at Pacific Raceway Proformance Racing school. I highly recommend taking this class as it does a great job of preparing you for driving extremely fast & safe. :-)Apr 11, 2009

Performance - Great handling, brakes and acceleration for mid luxury car.
Build quality - No problems or defects on my car. Nice comfort features and Logic 7 sound system is great.
Looks- 545 has aggressive stance close to M5.
Cost of ownership: (Only gas and winter tires). MPG Highway is 26, City 18, combined 22-23
Fun Factor - THE BEST, smooth acceleration, corners like a 3 series ( make sure you have sports package). i-drive issues are overrated. Once you make the intial settings you only use it of the radio.Dec 03, 2008

BMW 530 is the most amazing car in the whole world. I kept it for almost 18 months. Its beautiful, solid and very fast. You could easily say that this car is a head turner. I have sold it now but would surely consider buying it agagin sometime soon. cheers.Oct 01, 2008

Mechanically sound. Lots (and I mean lots) of little things go wrong - poor trim, door seals replaced x 3, noisy sunrood, electronic problems, irritating and cheap interior (cupholders - aaaagggghhh). Better value out there for less money. I've driven BMW for over 10 years but this will be the last.Feb 01, 2008

The exterior is amazing, but if you look at all the buttons and commands, you realize that there are alot of distrasctions while you drive for instance the center knob controls almost everything, now imagine setting the clock on that thing :) .Driving wise this car has a smooth acceleration until you floor it, give's you a whiplash like no tomorrow. Hi, I've lost power/boost on my car. Error code 3F57 Charge Air Pressure Control, please are you able to tell me what the fault may be? 2 weeks ago I noticed the car will drive fine the first few minutes then sudden loss in power. After a while each time I let me feet off the accelerator I can hear a noise like build up of air being released. I've been to my local garage and replaced the map sensor, replaced some vacuum pipes, cleaned EGR valve, replaced crank breather and so on but still running same. Please help or advise?

Problems with BMW
I have a BMW 5 series manufacture year 2005, 2.5 diesel sport and a red circle appears on the dash board in which it says that the transmission is faulty and the gear might engage with the brake and the car does not get the power to run properly, it also shows check the battery terminal and that there is a run flat tyre failure. What are the solutions to resolve this? I have already changed the battery and the alternator. Thanks
