The Nissan Frontier saw no major changes for 2004, as it was due for an overhaul for the next year. The 2004 Frontier comes in four trims: the XE, the Desert Runner, the fully loaded SE, and the Supercharged model. The trims came in a variety of body styles, including an extended cab (KingCab), the Crew Cab, a short bed, 4WD, and a regular cab. Most Frontiers, except the Crew Cab and Supercharged, came standard with a 2.4-liter, 143-horsepower four-cylinder engine that gets about 20/24 mpg in the standard cab and 18/21 for the extended cab. The Crew Cab came standard with the 3.4-liter, 170-horsepower V6, which got 15/19 mpg and which was optional in the KingCabs. The Supercharged model came with a 3.3-liter 210-horsepower V6, getting about 15/18 mpg. It a great truck , give all what toyota tacoma will for half the price.

Great truck, bought used with 55k on it, no major problems and it has ran like a charm. Love it! I just keep up on the oil changes and have had to do a tune up every now and again but it has 135k on it now and going strong.Apr 15, 2015

Needed a reliable vehicle for son who is leaving state to play hockey at age 16. Wanted a reliable 4WD with room to haul people and hockey bags. Not a lot of room in back seat, but comfortable for 2 as long as not a long trip. Short bed is adequate as long as you are not carrying a lot of cargo continuously. Can fit two large hockey bags (goalies) in bed, if more room needed, get a topper.Jul 26, 2013

Just got this truck, so I don't know the maintenance cost and reliability yet as CAR IQ is making me rate it. I also don't tow anything. So far I am impressed. Decent power for a 4 banger. I like how there is not much difference in looks in trim levels with Nissan trucks, unlike Toyota, where if you buy a lower trim it looks cheap and is still overpriced.Nov 25, 2011

I love everything about my truck but am considering buying a jeep.
It has been very well maintained. Only has a little over 40,000 miles.
the truck had great acceleration and braking and handling.
I would feel very protected in an accident. With the short bed I can control parking much better in garages,etc. Has bed extender for hauling or going on trips to carry extra.Jun 20, 2011

•Appearance - In standard form its a bit boring but i think my pickup looks amazing.

All around great "small" truck. Supercharger really pulled when needed, the 4 doors made it more practical, the longbed gave me that extra room when making my Home Depot Runs and the 4WD came in handy if I ever needed to go up to the snow or take it off road.
This truck is best as a extra vehicle as I had mine as my daily driver which I commuted 20 miles to and from work. I figure I was getting about 18 MPG at best. With its turning radius, the crew cab and long bed parking in small parking lots was a aquired skillJan 07, 2010

Acceleration is good, handling is OK for light off road and on road, but the brakes isn't good enough.
Exterior appearance good, and interior is good and user fiendly.
Very fun to drive for a little family.

Improvement on the 3.0 with the supercharger making it a 3.3. A bump on HP from 180 to 210 puts a kick under the hood. Nice upgrade for the last year of production from the 1987 original Pathfinder/Hardbody Pick-up.

Throttle position sensor
I replased the throttle position sensor and looked up about 7 different ways to reset it and tried them all at least twice and it will not reset my ex whife called the dealer and they said it would cost her $200 and we have to tow it over 100 miles is this true that they have to reset it or am i missing something here

Why won't this truck start?
I have a 2004 V6 Frontier. It will not start. It has new spark plugs, plug wires, upstream O2 sensors, fuel pump, and fuel filter. It has 150 psi compression. Distributor is in time. I have injector pulse. It has good spark. It will not start even on starting fluid. Where should I go from here?
