Excellent overall vehicle. Very reliable. Versatile and sporty. Maintenance costs were not very high. Would buy parts direct and take to a mechanic and pay for labor. Strong engine, turns on the drop of a dime yet comfortable on road trips.Mar 24, 2015

Love my new (to me) ML320! It looks great... can go anywhere... and is more than
comfortable.
I'm looking forward to taking some road trips and really putting it through the

This is my third m class. I like the model and design. For reliability ths car can't be beat. It always goes. The little things like door lock actuators are crazy expensive to fix. Ride and comfort still great even after 11 years for this workhorse Jun 07, 2013

Performance: great engine, it is very powerful and performs well.
Build Quality: solid car (small truck). Other than a computer issue and
brakes all other repairs normal. This car does require a lot of brake
jobs and they still squeak. A weakness with Mercedes.
Appearance: Good looking car..won't win any awards.
Cost of ownership - normal for car of this quality.

Sucks gas, performs like a Volvo, though it's built like a tank. MPG of the V6 is basically the same as the V8, buy an ML500 if you are considering a Mercedes-Benz SUV. This car is easy to throw around, but does not have the power to back it up. Currently at 102,450 miles and going strong.Nov 12, 2010

I have had this car for a about a year and a half with 109000
miles currently and no maintenance issues. I change the oil
regularly and had an alignment and new tires, thats about it. It
handles well and feels very safe for my baby to ride in. There
are like 12 airbags and it has quite a spacious interior. The
obvious cons are that the electronics are a bit outdated and the
walnut trim as well but it is a very good looking vehicle (orion
blue with grey leather) and I will likely have this for many years

ml 270 cdi is a bit under powered.. after a remaping of the ecm its rockin

with the slap-shift I got 0-100km in 7.9sec. Nice interior. Bose sound system. Gold on outside, beige on the inside. Leather. 14-15mpg in the city 17-18 on the highway. It's very fun to drive. Great balance in an SUV. Enough power, good mileage, nice amenities, classy MB look. It is meant to be a truck, not a car, so if you don't want a truck go elsewhere. But some of us want the toughness of a truck, with luxury amenities. Fun to drive -- you feel like you can handle anything that comes at you. Flies along at 85 mph comfortably on the freeway. Some of the consumer magazines have poor mouthed these, with the result that the prices on used ones are amazingly reasonable. We've got both a 2001 (175,000 mi.) and a 2002 (54,000 mi.). It is a pretty good looking car.It has Navigation! I think it runs GREAT! It feels as if smoochin with the ground! ;) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And has a nice bose speaker system. I have had my truck for approx four (4) years and it runs very well, as expected, however I do have a problem with the material that bumbers are made from, I had an experience late last year where I ran over a piece of metal on a dark road it ripped the front bumper in two,I had it repaired via insurance company, less that a month later I was putting my husbands hand luggage in the trunk of the truck, when the wheel on the luggage rolled off and hit the bumper, it shattered like glass, as a matter of fact that was the sound I heard, to my astonishment it was the top part of the bumper that had shattered, it looks just like when a glass is broken.
I am very disappointed by the fact that Mercedes whom I have admired for long time (ever since I rode in my dad's 450SEL green Benz)I have owned several other American made cars,this is my first foreign cars and I am now very leery of recommending anyone to purchase an ML320 due my horrible experiences, I fell I should not have to pay a higher insurance premium stemming from a second claim to fix my back bumper. I believe that this bumper should be replace by Mercedes, as I will be taking pictures and posting them on line so people can be aware of the inferior materials being used on such and expensive piece of machinery.

Merc ML320 2002 ABS BAS ETS issue
hi there, my ML 2002 has the old ABS,ETS,BAS light issue that stays on while driving. I also get the buzzing from the pump while driving and continues when when driving. I am aware of this model had been recalled to have break switch done. Done it. also just had the wasted expense of the abs module/pump replaced. Didn't work. A few months before these retched lights appeared and weird buzzing noise happens on right hand turns and continues for a few secs after engine is off , I had to have a small leak in the steering fixed . the leak is gone which is great but is it possible that he had thrown out the telescopic steering at the same time? The battery is good , and it doesn't throw any codes at all while driving. But it did throw up a code (apparently) saying the module had to be replaced. so over it. otherwise it runs well. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. regards and out of pocket SARAHMERC

I have an 2002 ml320 and the bas esp ets and parking brake lights are on all the time and the dinging starts after I reach 20mph and then stays on all the time. Two mechanics have said I need to have the esp panel replaced. Is there a way to silence the dinging in the meantime?
