it breaks down when stock after you replace EVERYTHING
then its a fun car to own...i nistalled fully built motor and
now its usefully to have 6 speed tranny hahah and pro kit for

For a basic compact car, the SVT Focus is definitly a great competitor. The performance is great on top end, highway monster. The appearance is one off and trendy. The car is amazing to drive. The build quality is good, but could be better, 8/10. The over all cost is good. Requires 91+ octaine but it gets great mileage for being a car that makes you feel like half throttle is just not enough.Jan 23, 2010

A blast to drive. The Getrag 6-speed is probably one of the best transmissions I've every experienced. The car accelerates quickly well past 100 mph with ease. It also has one of the best sounding exhaust notes I've ever heard. Nov 03, 2009

This car out of the box was perfect. The best brakes of any car I have driven, and handles any corner you throw it into. SVT did a great job on this car, making it distinctly an SVT. Exterior and interior are a huge ste up for the standard focus. Now, the car has aobut 265 hp and is a completely different beast. The best sleeper for the buck.Oct 27, 2009

Its got great handling, probably its best trait. It makes nice power for a NA 4 cyl but its still no Euro RS Focus. Its good enough to take on jap crap and V6 Mustangs and Camaros but even that doesnt say much. On the track Ive seen them keep up with WRXs... around corners at least.May 12, 2009

A lucky find at my work, this SVT was previously modified for scca racing, on one of my first drives it humilated a 350z !!! And it drives like its on rails, if not for the exhaust note the disguise would be perfect, but its only fair to warn your prey !!!Feb 22, 2009

This car is an eye opener. It will keep u in the back of your seat and keep u there. If u want some thing to keep up with an evo type, throw in a turbo (and a little bit). The 6 speed Trans allows for plenty of improvement. And for the suspension it’s almost as good as it gets with a lowering kit maybe 1/2 an inch. Just keep it maintained or u will regret it. If you’re going to the dealer (recommend) the bill will look like a BMW bill.Dec 25, 2008

Its performance is really good right now, it can be alot better but i've been have trouble with the fan, doesnt work and the muffler system, wich make the car go a lil slow on the acceleration, but i can keep up with some v6 still. The build Quality still in good conditions nothing bad. My cars appearance i woul say is really nice all ppl i know say it looks bomb! i have the bumpers customized as the hood aswell, from the inside same i got a stereo dvd touchscreen wich makes ti look nice at night adn of course the sound system. The gas mileage is great now that gas prices are hight at this time, so you wont spend lots of money for gas with this baby. The maintenance could be a little expensive sometimes, it all depends on you bubget. I would recommend this car for ppl who like small and sporty cars but onlyt if they are willing to keep it in good condicions.Jul 02, 2008

Intense vibrations and spuratic rpms at idle
hello im kinda new to this so some help from someone who really knows what they are talking about would be great. 1.I just recently bought a 2002 svt focus, it runs great pulls hard ect. the only concern i have is that when im at idle the rpms sometimes drop to about 900 and it will stay consistently at 900 then other times it will idle at around 1200, then other times it will idle like im driving a big block with some insane cam and the rpms just keep jumping way down and just catching again. 2.Also, when im idling at a light the car shakes somewhat violently, i notice it mostly in the steering wheel and left mirror, the mirror is useless at the rate that it is vibrating at and the steering wheel gets blury because of the intense vibration. The car only has 58,000 miles on it and i really dont want to have to be replacing motor mounts already. or if this is just normal in the svt's? 3.yet another issue, at the lot that i bought the car from the battery died. which i beleve the car has some reset safety code that i have to enter to get my radio/clock/cd player working. 4.And another one of my problems is that i believe that it is a cv boot? the rubber accordion looking thing that covers the joint to the wheel. that boot has about a 1 inch tear that has leaked grease. if anyone who reads this could give me some advice that would be a great help. im a 16 year old kid who is kinda on a budget. any help out there?
