decent acc and breaking build quality(well its a daewoo what can i say) appearance well it only something that a mother could love,i got given the car as a gift real good on gas and maintenance and yeah it is fun to drive especially being 5 speed manualFeb 22, 2011

Disadvantages: weak brakes, undurable suspention, unreliable water cycle, not produced any more. and I've driven other cars with higher fun factor.
Advantages: Very confortable, strong engine, cheep initial cost for a 1600 CC car, cheep spare parts, easy handling and safe to drive.Nov 15, 2009

I was really surprised by this car. I bought it used at 4 years old and 17k miles, and I've driven it for three years and up to 84k miles. It still purrs, it hasn't need much maintenance or significant repairs, it handles and accelerates well, the AC still works great, and the gas mileage has remained low.
The brakes have squeaked for a couple years, and the pop-out cup holders under the cd player rattle if they're out and there's nothing in them. Still, the brakes stop really well and everything is still strong in the car.
Those are minor. I personally have grown really attached to the car, like it's a friend. I enjoy driving it, it's cheap to own, and I love looking at the grill as I walk up to it. I was recently in an accident, and I'll be sad to let this one go once I find another.

2000 Daewoo Nubira Engine Oil Temp Redlining
Firstly, I am not a car person, that's why I came here. Secondly, my car is a heap already, but the last thing I want is for the engine to blow up in my face. So I am in Austin, TX and its consistently 90-100 degrees outside. I was driving about 50mph on the highway access road when I noticed my temp gauge was all the way at the top, redlining. I freaked out and pulled off then stopped my car. I checked the oil stick and I'm all good on that. I restarted and headed to Walmart for coolant, since I figured that might be what was needed. On the way, the gauge starts doing these crazy spikes up to the red. It hovers there for about 15 heart-wrenching seconds, then drops rapidly back down to the middle. I kept my speed under 45 the whole way, but I still stopped twice and waited about 10 minutes for my engine to cool down. Picked up the coolant, but I don't know how to access my radiator, or what it even looks like! Any advice on the heating problem in general would be greatly appreciated, also instructions for adding the coolant. (LOST THE MANUAL) THANKS!!!!!
