Car stops after aprox 30 min
Car stops suddenly after aprox 30 min when full heated and starts again after few ours, i change fuel system etc..but still same problem, it's like someone do ignition switch off.

Pros:
I love the styling, the comfort and the quality! I've driven for fourteen hours
steright and gotten out of the car without a back ache. Something I get in much
shorter trips in japanese cars! The car is 12 years old and looks brand new still,
that amazes me. The interior even still has the "new car" smell. The interior
quality is so good that it is inpossiable to tell its age!
Cons:
Well you have to take off the front bumper and the radiator to get to the
waterpump. I've had a ABS sensor go bad. I also have a small oil leek.

It´s actually a 1996, but the website here did´t allow me to choose this year.
Handling: It understeers quite badly, but all FWD Audis do that.
Steering: not bad, (you can "feel" the road "a little bit")
Power: 125 PS (not bad)
Fun: Well its an Avant, so you can take your whole home and go for a ride...^^

Needs some motor work to really let the turbo do its thing, definitely needs suspension and motor mounts. otherwise pretty good daily.
3" downpipe and 2.5" exhaust are needed, hate quiet cars. S4 goodies are always a nice upgrade as wellSep 19, 2010

Best of the recent bunch, a sport model with lowered suspension, summer tires
and painted an awesome volcano gray. The build quality was superb and the
interior up to Audi's highest standard in class. One MAJOR problem was the
front suspension which was virtually replaced twice under warranty. If memory
serves me correct the bushings did not last long and I think the lower arms are
replaced as well. The only other problem I encountered was a loose vacuum
hose that left me nearly stranded and required a tow to the dealer.
With Quattro and four speed rated Euro snows
this car was a blast to drive from Cuyahoga Falls back roads 30%, to Cleveland
State in the dead of winter when few ventured out. Good gas mileage albeit
Shell 93 and very low maintenance. Original Dunlop rubber sticky but quick to
wear just driving to church
on Sundays (Hehehe). I'd buy another but where is the M/T Audi?Aug 30, 2010

I loved this car. My dad gave it to me when my stepmom got a new van. It drove good. The only problem was that it kind of just stopped one day. My dad turned up the boost and i didnt know so i wasent warming up the engine.Apr 09, 2010

BTW this is a 2001 model NOT 99! No option available for 2001. The performance is terrible, lord knows why it was fitted with a towbar as it couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Reaction is sluggish and weak, not at all what you'd expect from an apparently prestige brand. Handling however is good and the brakes are adequate. Build quality is average to poor compared to other makes of vehicle, and reliability is terrible. It has spent more time off the road than on it, and the audi garage servicing is very hit and miss, the dealers apparently replacing parts on a whim rather than because they *know* they are faulty, and hoping they get it right, which they don't. Cost of ownership is astronomical and repairs extortinate. Fun factor is nil, although because it is a higher specification vehicle it is very comfortable. It has cream leather interior, cruise control, electric heated mirrors, electric windows, climate control, heated seats, tiptronic gearbox and a whole host of airbags in every concievable corner. The comfort *almost* makes up for the lack of reliability, but not completely. I would never reccomend one to a friend. Jan 11, 2010

Lasts long, handles very well with the all wheel drive, but it is expensive to fix, just like every other euro car. Gas mileage is not bad, and she is quite a pretty lady. Kind of slow, but she is fun to drive.Oct 07, 2009

Enough power for normal use, but ain´t no rocket. Love the quattro all-wheel drive. Doesn´t corrode, good paint quality. Suspension arms a weak spot, but not too expensive to repair. Some model years present a fault in the abs brakes control module.Jun 25, 2009

The car is a A4 1,8TS 2001 and it's a great car, about 180 hp. Acceleration is ok, handling is good. It's a pleasure to drive. Very good quality and comfort.

The car was brilliant, it was a dream to drive on the motorway could easily carry all of my gear up and down the contry! Great fuel economy and comfortable!!
I had the 1.9TDI(110) It's acceleration was not that of a sports car but it was good enough, it breaked like nothing else I have ever owned, and handeling was good, it was quite good on country lanes!! Oct 21, 2008

Prob worst car ever ! Looked good but many flaws, Alternator belt configeration very complicated and had to make my own set up in emergency (on hols too).

I purchased my A4 used with 140,000 miles. I have been driving it for 2 years, during which time I have driven it between collage in Idaho, Home in Colorado Springs, and my wifes home in Los Angeles, and I haven't had to fix a thing! Just routine oil changes and so forth. I chose the Avant for the roof rack, and I have a Yakima system with 2 rocky mounts bike carriers, and a Yakima ski/snowboard rack. The Quattro makes it handle excellent in the snow, and dirt for recreational transportation. The interior is bomb proof with the German simulated leather that gives it a refined and luxurious feel. I will definitely keep this car until it no longer runs! Which is looking like it will be quite a while!May 31, 2008

strongly rekomended family car or an traile dragster, this machine can be custom engine tuned but too what price? gearbox, clutch, turbo, intercooler.. you name it.. aftermarket parts of this kind is not cheap specialy not in sweden!

I just picked up a 99 Audi A4 Avant wagon for my kids to drive to school. It has a really solid roof rack, but it only consists of 2 lengthwise beams well anchored to the roof. Problem when starting the car.
Recently I changed the fuel pump on my audi like a week and a half ago. The car has trouble starting I am not sure why. It will start but it takes a longer than usual before it would start on the first time I turned the key, now when I turn the key it keeps trying then after 5 seconds in starts.
