Great engine, very practical and pretty reliible. However do not touch older
examples of these they were prone to rust on the floorpan. Mine had to be welded
in three places before I finally chucked it. Saw one on ebay that was for sale for
parts, the same thing had happened to it.Sep 15, 2010

My 145 had 1.4 written in the back, but I think those guys from Alfa Romeo
exchange my engine to a 1.7QV or something... It was so fast that sometimes
it was scary enough to press a little the brake pedal, like "wow... hold your
horses, kid"!...
For me, the worse thing of the car is that you can't drive the car slowly with
some pleasure :(
The consumption is around 8-9 liter each 100km and the mechanical parts are
not very expensive.
The handling is wonderful, with precise steering. However, the brakes use the
ABS too much often...
It's beautiful outside and inside! Alfa's designers toke care of all minor details to
produce a car that makes your eyes smile :) The overall built quality is very
good too, although some finishing details could be better.
Ergonomically, it has at least 2 things I point: the radio is all down in the bottom
and the seats are made only to people with long legs :(Jul 30, 2010

* Performance - mine had an 1.4 engine but still could do 130/140 on the highway. This car has the best brakes in its class, really!
* Build Quality - if Alfa could get build quality to the level of the German manufacturers, I bet VW would have been broke until now
* Appearance - Exterior - lovely, Interior - not that much
* Cost of Ownership - a lot
* Fun Factor - YES!! And there is no other word to describe the car
