Good van, good power to carry alot of weight inside smooth ride thanks to the air suspension and looks sleek with leather interior cost was reasonable and was fun to drive for a minivan! great for transporting kids down to hard wood flooring!Jan 05, 2012

Just got our van little over a week ago , we like the room :) Much more room for our family! Nice riding van on the highways. Much more room for hauling things,too. Love the van!! We have been looking for the right van to come along and this is it.Apr 01, 2011

HA. Interesting choice. Well for starters I went to a wrecking yard and bought a starter to put in b/c the original was broken. Now after i did that little job I again tried to roll it over and it still will not fire and stay running. Bottom line after sending it to my mechanic, its needs a crankshaft. still $1500.00 OBOJan 28, 2010

This car is relatively old (157k miles), and my mother owned (and crashed) it before my dad handed it down to me and bought her a RAV4. The brakes are TERRIBLE, and I would never let anyone but myself drive the thing because to brake in a timely fashion takes some getting used to. It has excellent pick-up and speed for a minivan. It's very sturdy to have lasted through a year of my driving. The mileage is horrible, and it takes $90 to fill up the tank. Overall, it's a very good car and I like it, the only problem is it's just not ME.Aug 15, 2008

This van has pulled our trailers, hauled our kids, taken us camping, seen a good bit of the US, and has been pretty reliable all along the way. Since it's no longer in production we had to buy a different make/model, otherwise we would have been quite happy buying another one just like this one.May 28, 2008

How do I know how to diagnose no crank no start on 98 Olds Silhouette V-6 3.4 liter?
The 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette V-6 3.4 liter slowly began to have trouble starting and now it is dead. We removed and tested the battery and we had to replace it. Now, when I turn the key there is no noise and the headlights do not dim. I am certain the battery cables are clean and snug. It's a no crank no start or in other words it will not turn over at all. Also there is no clicking or any audible noise at all. Should I try tapping the starter with a hammer? What other things should I test before removing the starter? Are there any other signs or symptoms I should be looking for to diagnose the problem. I have a digital multimeter if that could be of use. Anyway, thanks to everyone for taking the time and effort to help.

I need part names...
I'm looking for parts to fix my passenger side window. The previous owner removed the coil spring and the forked bolt that holds the spring (I imagine it's like a counterweight for the glass) in place where the scissors cross in the middle. He then used a pair of vice grips to hold the window up. I'm hoping if I have the name of the parts I'll be able to look them up. 'Coil spring thing and fork bolt' isn't getting me anywhere.

How to remove the crossover exhaust pipe in an Oldsmobile silhouette 1998 to reach the thermostat? Problem: It seems like it is very difficult to reach and remove the heat shield bolts in the rear side of the exhaust pipe assembly, therefore the same for the rear bolts/nuts of the pipe. Any tip of instruction or graphic images will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
