I believe my ECM is bad and noticed a small cover held on with two screws on ECM, underneath is a rectangular black box with ten or so pins,is this a fuse?if not what is it ,curious that's it's accessible this way.
I recently bought a 1998 GMC Jimmy. I bought it knowing it didn't go into reverse. I need help finding out whats wrong with it.
My Jimmy shuts down and does not restart. The gages dont move and I can hear the fuel pump trigger. Also my battery is good.

I have 1997 GMC Jimmy SLS. My question is what could cause the vehicle to completely drain the battery of the SUV while it's still running. The drain is so bad that the SUV dies and the battery is drained dead. I have replaced both the battery and the alternator. I have also had the alternator tested at multiple locations and all the locations passed. I'm about to just pull the engine and transmission and send the electrical nightmare to the junkyard. Can someone help me I really want to get it running again?
