Well i like how it looks but i don't like how much i have to work on the engine so much and how much it cost to fill it. love how it drives with the 4x4 it can climb in speed and make the girls go crazy for you. overall its a great truck to drive if you have the right kind of money!Aug 08, 2013

Well I like that I only paid about 500 bucks for it. I borrowed it from my Father-in-law for a few months before I bought it. while borrowing I put about 800 bucks worth of repairs so in reality I got it for about $1300. We bought this truck for a great price, private party sale, in 2000 with over 70,000 miles on it. We've loved having it ever since, and now it's up over 190,000! We've used it for just about everything imaginable: towing a 26ft travel trailer; hauling trash/construction debris, rock, building materials, lawn mowers, and pulling other vehicles (with a tow rope or on a flatbed); we've taken it all over the country on the interstate, and been off road in the mud and muck; it's hauled our family of four to the grocery store and all around town from when the boys were in car seats till they were tall, lanky teenagers (now). The back seat is a little tight for them now, but for short trips, adults can fit three across. We got the good price because it didn't have the third door, so car seats and such were a little inconvenient, but workable. We originally bought it in VA, took it with us to TX for four years, and now have had it in SD for the last six. It stays cool in the heat and handles great in the snow with the 4WD, and I have yet to find a stuck vehicle I couldn't pull out. She's a little cold-blooded at the beginning of winter, and the transmission slips a little when it's cold too, but overall I've been very pleased with how easy it is to keep this thing running. I'm a very part-time weekend warrior mechanic, but with the help of my Hayne's manual, I've been able to do just about everything needed on this truck. Besides the expected wear and tear for 190K+ (lines and hoses, belts, batteries, shocks, etc.), we've only had to replace the A/C compressor, power steering pump and gearbox, water pump, and a seal on the transfer case. You can basically climb into the engine compartment if you need to do anything in there, and you can crawl right under with the clearance on this thing! It's got a solid front axle, so don't expect a luxury smooth ride, but we actually like that (except when you are trying not to spill a coffee). We upped the tire size one step to better fill those big wheel wells, and love the tight turns this thing can do (actually better than our minivan!)...makes parking a breeze. Aside from the sun-induced busted up dash cover (apparently this is an issue with the Rams of this vintage), everything still looks very nice. We love this truck, and will probably drive it until it dies...even then, if the body's still holding up, we might throw a new 360 in it and keep going...after all, it's part of the family.Sep 21, 2012

Performance is good on the truck. Braking is good, so far the handling is good as well and acceleration is good for a stock motor. Appearance is beautiful inside andout. Hasn't had any major repairs. Great truck, descent gas mileage, awesome off-road capability. Dodge made a great looking and functioning truck when they made the 93-01 Ram 1500 Series, provided there is always room to improve. The New Vision transmissions straight up suck, the Magnum Series motor's can sometimes be hit or miss and why the hell would you put a Dana 44 in the front and then put a Chrysler 9 1/4 in the rear. I've never managed to get this thing stuck and it's been through some pretty tough spots.Nov 21, 2010

My Ram has taken me all over this great country, to both coasts and everywhere in between. It has a been a rock solid and dependable machine with impressive ergonomics and performance. The truck is now showing 190,000 on the odometer with a near-perfect record as regards reliability. It has never left me stranded. It still looks decent and runs strong. With proper maintenance I see no reason that this truck couldn't go another 100,000 miles or more. This monster may be big, but she hugs the road like no other. I have never been able to lock up the tires even on a rear ABS system. This Ram has 160000 miles and it still runs like new. I love my Dodge Ram! It has an amazing engine sound and you can feel that 4.2L V8 Magnum power! It isn't too expensive to insure but gas mileage is low obviously. Good over all truck, it has a new frontend under it. Winter tires, the 4wheel drive works great. I have taken it off road a couple times, the only problem is the truck is over 7000 pounds. and is way to long to fit in a standard garage. very smooth ride coupled with good performance (for a truck) make it the best generation of the dodge ram in my opinion. premium leather interior and sound system make it a good riding truck and the small-block Magnum V8 make it a good work-horse. invest a grand or two into it and you've got a very formidable engine set-up. but it is a truck so don't expect it to go easy on the gas. performance wise its alright for a truck the acceleration is alright wish it was faster, braking is amazing, handling is good except on sharp corners. Build Quality it has needed repairs-replaced the radiator, water pump, and head gaskets, interior is brown and light brown wish it was a different color exterior is brown and silver/light grey, it has aluminum wheels, i have added performance plugs and a k&n cold air intake makes the gas mileage better gets around 18 mpg, and if you add lucas oil fuel additive runs smoothly and adding lucas oil stabilzer to your oil runs nicely. Great car thats a real head turner, has a 5.9 litter V8, about 300 horsepower. suckes up gass like a little kid in the summer 13 city 18 highway. Got to love the stock Red with t silver stripes. the truck is prety much stock. except the air cleaner and the exaust.
