has anyone had a problem with the check they give you for not being any good
they want me to give them my car but not able to cash or deposit check for 3 hours later. does not sound good to me, sounds like a SCAM

History of the 1997 Corvette
Built as the first model year of the new C5 platform (1997-2004), the 1997 Corvette is known as the most retooled version of the historic car since 1953. Of particular note is the use of a "transaxle," the first time this car had its transmission placed in the back of the car, thus placing more weight and grip over the rear tires.
Additional new features included a new C5 engine. The LS-1 engine was a new all aluminum design that put out 345 horsepower. The resulting 0-60 mph times of 4.8 seconds put it in the same performance class as the most expensive cars of its time (Ferrari etc).
Despite its "exotic" peformance numbers, the 1997 Corvette is known as a good daily driver. Consumers consistently applaud its exceptional cornering ability, good price/performance characteristics and its head turning styling. Many feel that this is the great "american" sportscar.

NO dislikes couldn't think of a single thing to change, well maybe the gas mileage but hey its a sports car. Mechanically not much maintenance to be done if you take care of them like any corvette lover would. A+Sep 17, 2013

This C5 is a blast to drive. Handles great, shifts smoothly, and "does the dance" when you want it to. I love the Torch Red color and the cargo area is spacious enough for anything I wanted or needed to bring home. Sep 16, 2013

Only 9,780 build. The 1997 was new LT1 corvette,Low maintenance will not brake you wallet. Fun to drive and very fast.
Cost very little to own. Happy cruzing.

Highly modified, nothing about my car should be used by others as a
basis to buy one of their own. Tons of HP with the giggle juice and
about 8mpg in and around town. Really need to get the car to the
dealership to fix some electrical gremlins that are the result of a few

Drove one, had to have one immediately. I've driven all sorts of vehicles and the acceleration, handling and braking on the Corvette is superb. Parts are cheap and easy to replace, and you can buy one for less than you think!Jul 21, 2009

My 1997 corvette is my favorite car I've owned. It has been nearly problem free. There are so many after market parts available I was able to customize it to my liking. I always get compliments on it. Also very fun to drive. Go buy a vette and try to race me!Nov 22, 2008

The car is fast as hell doing 86 in 2nd gear is something else, its got good pick up but the body is flimsy and is easlly cracked, but with all fiber glass bodies they all will be, its a fun car to drive and ride in thanks to my dad for letting me drive it!Aug 18, 2008
