why wont my head lights shut off on a 1995 olds achieva
replaced the headlight dimmer switch and now head lights wont shut off

I loved this car. It had plenty of power for a daily driver, and I was getting over 30 to the gallon on the highway. I could go anywhere in it, and actually drove through over a foot of snow in a county park over the winter. It also spent some time in the school forest, and could keep up with 4x4 trucks. It still even drove after getting side swiped at 35+ mph. Jan 26, 2010

it is a beater but gets the job done, nuff said kinda quick needs work put in a head gasket and re sealed everything on the top end (can actually do burnouts contrary to popular belief) ha ha still a beaterOct 07, 2009

I like the automatic usage in it but I do not like the way the transmission goes nor the gas mileage it has I also like the over all look of the car it looks sporty and it looks like a strong carSep 17, 2009

I had the rare (and known to be problematic) Quad 4 with the 5 speed. It was a blast to drive believe it or not with the stock 180 hp out of the 4 cylinder it had the power that still impressed me untill the day I sold it. I personally had some work done on mine. Quad 4s are known to blow head gaskets. I replaced mine and rebuilt the whole top half along with port and polish, cold air intake, 2 1/4 exhaust and race muffler, sport clutch and other small yet suprisingly cheap parts. The whole cylinder head rebuilt along with front end bushing and such was under 800 bucks and thats including the clutch. I did the work myself though. Through all of this It had about 220hp and did about 32 mpg on premium.Jul 08, 2009

The engine revs really highand accelerates quite smoothly up to around 55 mph then it shifts into 2nd and surges a little then until around 90 or so then overdrive kicks in and acceleration is bad. The brakes suck for now, i need new rotors, they kind of smell burnt coming down from 60 hard. it sticks to the road like glue, it is very hard to get the back end to swing around, even or loose gravel. Gets like 25mpg but i accelerate quickly at any given chnace. It is fun, because if you are anywhere below 50 you can slam it into 1st gear and give it the guts. IT ALSO BLOWS UP!!! JUNK!Jul 02, 2009

This was by far the worst car i ever owned. Yes it was roomy and comfortable but she ate through brakes like no tomorrow. The weak brakes caused me to lose the car in an accident during which the air bags did NOT deploy. Apr 14, 2008

Awesome car...took it everywhere never got stuck. Ran great. the 3.1 v6 was one of GM's best motors. Fast! great ride but i sold it cause it had 215,000 miles on it and its still on the road.Apr 01, 2008

How am I getting gas into my breather on my 95 Achieva car turns over but won't start.

olds mobile achieva 95 3.1 v6 automatic trany start only when I go underneath and move the flywheel/driveplate any ideas folks
Put in new starter cause it didn't start well when it got home it didn't start again. I then thought of going underneath and move the wheel on the tranny with a screwdriver and wa la it starts when i do that but thats the only way it starts.Starter cranks but engine doesn't. Any commencsense resolve would be appreciated.
