let's see...if you want cheap car which doesn't spend any gas at all...you are in wrong part of universum if you're reading this. Alfa is expensive to buy, expensive to maintenance and you must know on a first sight that THAT'S the right car for you...no calculation, no brain...just heart and feelings. End of story.
but, anyways, let me answer for you those questions here:
*performance - good
*build quality - before 156 little problematic, with lunching of 156, building quality is moved to highest level, like Alfa alway should been
*appearance - did you seen any Alfa recently? well, if you have eyes and heart, you must respond on that
*cost of ownership - for 155 is not small, because it's difficult to find parts these days
*fun factor - premiumAug 17, 2010

Actually a very good and reliable car.....clocked up huge milages .... (more than 200 000 km) and never broke down, didn't use much diesel and had very good seats. Nice steering, all the rest average..... would even run without oil (as my ex-wife proved to me by driving it for 20 km with the oil running out of it)....Feb 19, 2010

Considering all the tales about Alfa build quality and electrical problems, this car is amazing. It's a diesel 2.5 Turbo, only built for the European market. It has been well looked after and drives like a dream. Chain, no timing belt. Getting in need of attention now (cosmetically.) Mind you, after being out today, needs some attention to drivers side, worn ball joint.
Great gearbox, considering I rip through them to make the kids laugh. Great handling with good acceleration considering age....everything works. Spacious. LOVE IT! it is also black with tinted windows...MMMM is that a girl thing?Nov 15, 2009
