Having an interesting starting problem with my Bronco. 5.8 engine. Turn key to accessory, fuel pump charges, everything works. Turn key to start, it does nothing. No clicks, no turning over. Entire car goes completely dead for about 30 seconds, then power restores and is ok. New battery, starter checks OK, new fender mount coil, no bad fuses. Possibly a bad relay somewhere? Don't know where to check next.
What does black smoke out the exhaust when i give it gas mean?
My ‘94 Bronco won’t turn over and no lights come on. I tried hooking half of a set of jumper cables to the negative on the battery and touched the other side to the fender, alternator bracket, block basically everything I could think of, but I never even got any lights. Suggestions?

I have a 94 Bronco. Car turns over but won't start. The car ran fine, five minutes earlier. Stopped and tried to restart it and no go. Mechanic says relay is not telling the fuel pump to start. Says the pump works, thought it was the filter or pump for sure. Says there's no engine light on either. Any Idea why the fuel system would just shut down? He already looked for a cut off switch, said there was none.
