Hated it being hard to find mechanics that I could afford with being a single mom with 2 babies Plus finding parts that I could afford was always hard Usually good and very comfortable with working and carrying 2 babiesAug 11, 2013

é aquela carrinha familiar tipica, espaçosa e muito confortável. Tenho realmente pena que não tenha mais uso, porque caso contrário, o motor de 170 cavalos, 2.5c.c poderiam fazer ainda melhor. Nota-se que o motor está bastante preguiçoso. De resto, um volvo à moda antiga ! ;)Jun 18, 2011

Love the way it looks , ride, handle and feel. If your not into the most flashy car , but one that has longevity and quality ,i 'd recommend this car not , mine a car like mine. European cars are the best overall.Jun 17, 2010

Wonderful build. Longevity. Scandinavian style. Lower
performance. Good in snow w/ proper tires. Reliable.
Conservative, but gets the job done, and makes a
statement
at the same time. If you buy this car, or a newer model
Volvo, you'll be extremely pleased with how long it lasts.
Appearance suggests you're a pragmatic guy, but you
won't get knocked by car-people, despite it's weak

Faster than my other car, has a nice exhaust tone, leather interior was nice. FWD burnouts got some interesting reactions from both passengers and bystanders haha. It was a pretty fun car to drive for a 400$ car. Never again will i buy the first year of a new model though.Aug 28, 2009

I love this car. It drives excellently, it gets great fuel mileage, and it's amazingly comfortable. Plus, those sexy Swedish looks never fail to let it down. I absolutely adore every second I get to spend in my Volvo. The End

safe reliable car and you drive with class. Build is perfect the Swedish build quality car. It lacks in performance. appearance is nice. low low low cost of ownership because it never breaks down. It also feels good to drive a Volvo.Jul 09, 2009

Its a 850, a big one... Its nice to drive, but the preformance are not as good as i want it, but its hard to do anything about it since it is a GLE. It drinks about 10l/100km and i think its ok for a car of this size and age.Sep 19, 2008

Car was great, traded it in at 350,000km and only had to put about 1500$ into it in the last 4 years.
The only problem was owning it in an area with no dealership.
The car handled great in the snow, but was a little low in the front end for big snow, and handled great. the fraser canyon was almost as much fun as a motorcycle.
I got 34mpg on the highway and thats really good for a heavy solid car.Aug 14, 2008

Can you drop an LS into a Volvo 850 GLT? If so, what kind of labor would I be looking at? And if not, are there any alternatives with comparable performance? I recently found a 850 GLT with a nearly shot engine and I've been wanting to get into autocross for a while, but I don't have a car I'm willing to tear up, but I heard that Volvos can be turned into awesome cars, I just don't know if that applies to the 850 as well. Thanks in advance!

New Clutch - Pedal Goes to Floor
I replaced the clutch in my 1993 Volvo 850 (non-turbo) and cannot get the clutch to bleed. I replaced the clutch master slave cylinder and the clutch master cylinder. I have tried bleeding by having someone press the pedal, opening and closing the bleed valve, and repeating. I have also tried using a gravity bleed method. After many hours, I still have a pedal that drops straight to the floor. I am starting to think I messed up the clutch fork when I put it together. Is there a fairly easy way to verify this without taking it all apart, again? I am a DIY mechanic with moderate skills/ability and did this in my driveway, so I am not 100% confident.
