1993 Acura Integra Reviews, Pricing & Specs

I freakin' love my 2nd generation Integra. Purchased the car used in 2008 for only $400 expecting the usual. Good enough for the summer, Maybe a few months of winter and then the transmission slips out or the engine starts dumping oil all over itself. Little did I know that under the rusted out rear quarters and haggard interior was a tough little B-series engine that had never seen anything but full synthetic oil and premium gas. This beater, Turned project car, Turned daily driver is, So far, My favorite of the many cars that I've owned and driven. With 340xxx KMs on the car itself (90,000 or so on the new engine and tranny) it took little more then a few weekends with a disc grinder and rust converter primer before I had this Acura rippin' around town like a champ. Once I decided to face the heart-break of dumping my 3800 series swapped 87 Buick Lesabre, It was clearly time to upgrade my new ride. Soon enough I was pulling the stock engine (still mint and running strong) to make room for a B18c-R swap. Three days solid with a hoist and a buddy and we were back on the road. Add a cone filter and intake, 3 inch exhaust right from the headers and an upgraded ignition system and all the Honda kids just learn to leave you alone when you're out for a late night cruise. Since '08 I've converted five friends to Teggers and found a number of local clubs and crews, All supporting 2nd gen Integra cruise nights and car meets. When you add your own personal style to one of these cars it's like joining a family of people who all have their own reasons for owning one. I wouldn't trade mine for anything. This was the first car that I had work done to. It was pretty fast for the stock JDM 1.8L engine. It had 7 spoke gun metal gray rims with low pro tires, blue with blue flake paint job, carbon fiber taillights, halo projection headlights, custom hood, blue under glo, short throw shifter, custom subs. Put about 3 grand into but needed much more work. Came across the talon and wanted the better engine.Jan 14, 2010

The car handles quite well. The overall balance of the car is good. It has mild understeer at the limit of adhesion, but if the throttle is cut, or I trail the brakes into the corner it will oversteer easier than a front wheel drive car should. This can be very entertaining. Speaking of brakes they are generally good, with decent feel and responsiveness. They sometimes exibit fade when pushed very hard, though. The car makes direction changes very quickly thanks to its low weight, which helps chew up twisty back roads at a good pace. The straight line performance is not anything to brag about, but it is quick. I have surprised more than a few unsuspecting rivals. The build quility is very good. There are a few squeaks and rattles but the material quality is very good and there are no tears or wear marks in the seats or any other interior panels. The driveline has held up quite well. Other than regular maintanence, I have had no major driveline issues. After 160,000 miles the compression was within 5 psi on all cylinders last time i checked. I drive the car easy in general, but when I do thrash it I really give it a beating. When I lived in Washington state I would drive in the mountains and drive the car very hard for an hour or more at a time and it kept asking for more! On the flip side, I do regular maintanence and let the engine reach full operating temperature before I go any more than light throttle. I attribute these things as well as honda build quality to the way the vehicle has stood up against time. As far as appearance, well, quite frankly, it doesnt matter to me. I cant tell what it looks like from the drivers seat so I dont really care much. By what I hear it looks pretty good though. The interior ergonomics are very good, and the center console is driver oriented. Overall this car is a lot of fun. It is a blast to drive down a winding backroad and still gets up to 38 mpg! It is a good balance of reliablility, performance, and cost. I must point out that this car has mild aftermarket enhancements that contribute greatly to the car's fun factor. The extent of modification is not very substantial, but it is there. Namely intake and exhaust mods, as well as upgraded ignition. I also have a short throw shifter installed and a full sound system. In the works are basic suspension modifications consisting of mild springs and dampers, a camber correction kit, and some fifteen inch(preferably) wheels with stickier tires. May 07, 2009

I bought the Integra used shortly after moving to California. It was a Special Edition, which meant it was dark metallic green with tan leather interior. When I saw it, it was 4 years old and had a lot of highway miles, but was woman owned and well pampered. This car handled extremely well, not very fast but easy to drive though canyons at speed. Unfortunately, a few years of sitting in the desert sun resulted in the clearcoat breaking apart (common for this era of cars), so it looked more grey and tired than green and spritely. Add to that the cracked radiator, shot suspension, worn seats and bald tires and it was time to donate it once I got my WRX.Sep 21, 2008

its a good all around car that has alot of aftermarket support and i have a few small plans in the works for it. they handle very well and there isnt much you have to do to have a wonderful time driving one, mild suspension work and your set. the GS is under powerd with its 1.8 non-vtec motor but its still a blast. brakes could be addressed as lest then great but still good, asumeing that you eathier do not have ABS equiped or that it is working correctly. if yo know proper FF techniques then its a car the you can through some insane corners at [so long as there not up hill] lol. the interior is better then most older acura/hondas but still leaves a little to be desired for someone with short arms. all in all i would deff. recommend this to anyone want a cheep fun-to-drive front wheel driveJun 30, 2008

By far the best years for Integra's. This is my opinion and I can care less what other want to say or think. This is my review and this is how I feel. Since I have owned all the years of this body style and all trims as well. I know this car like the back of my hand. These are solid cars that can provide the weakest person with a smile. The sound of this car with a nice engine upgrades and a nice exhaust system. (Not something ricey or fart can like) It is like music to my ears...Jan 06, 2008
