What could be causing my engine to die when I push on the accelerator
My car will turn on and rev but when I push on the accelerator it dies. What can be causing this to happen???

What is there to say about this vehicle but it's great for a first vehicle or a winter beater. The 2.0L non turbo was more reliable than the turbo 2.0L model and the 1.8L models. It was a blast to drive in the snow, and blew threw everything. The only thing that was a problem with it was there were no airbags. As for the styling it was great for its time.Dec 09, 2010

not bad for a $300 beater lol love my dsm. nothing special just a 1.8 daily driver great on gas clean inside and out hoping to have an identical one to it but boosted 4g63 but cleaner than this one next week will have pics of it soonJan 13, 2010

its a dsm so it break here and there but the power and performance are there too fun car the awd makes for fun driving but i guess the turbo is where most of the fun comes from so yeahNov 13, 2009

engine stopped. wont start, thought timing belt but not it
I have a 1.8, on a long trip home (100 miles) temp gauge went all way to hot. I pulled over, shut off car, cooled off, checked coolant -seemed okay. Drove home with windows open and heater on full. next morning drove to work, at first no problem but then under load, lots of valve clatter upon coasting motor was quiet. Almost to work, motor died with no get up and go on acceleration. Thought timing belt broke but inspection showed was okay. Motor turns okay but does not start. Any suggestions?
