1991 Chevrolet Beretta Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Love my '91 Beretta. I'm the second owner and bought it only a year ago. The first owner took pretty good care of it, but did abuse it a bit. However, the 18 year-old car handles well, has decent torque and power, and is a lot of fun to drive. The brakes leave a bit to be desired. The tiny rear drums do the Beretta no favours. The 5-speed manual shifter is notchy as all heck, but this was a common complaint with these cars. I get nearly 800 km out of a tank of gas, so I can't complain there. The styling is still pretty sharp, though the 15" body- colour crosslace wheels are a little dated.Jul 15, 2009

She had a 3.1 V6 engine, Acceleration was as expected and breaking was good. For a 1991 model, there were no major complaints. The motor was origional and just would'nt die. 303000+ kms when i traded her for the dodge Caravan. Only got rid of her for more space. She ran great! Around 8 KPG on Highway( Doing 115KM/Hr) 10KPG in town. Maintenance was low, just changed normal worn out parts, like (brakes, fan belt,muffler ect) She was fun to drive, i would recommend her.Mar 30, 2009

It's a good car, nice and sporty. It's sounds better when you rip the muffler off it and just put some pipe and a tip on. Going to be taking the cat off and possibly puting a blue bottle on it. Tell you more when it happens. I think it would have been better with a 3.3 V6 instead of a 3.1. And it sucks if your trying to drift down gravel roads. We bought it from some little dealership in Edmonton and we've already had 2 change 2 wheel bearings, the third ones pretty much gone, have to replace it real soon, there's a nice oil leak, it was out of alignment, like oh my god so much is going wrong with it and only after not even 270,000kms. Gas mileage? Now that's a difficult one. Sometimes we get not even 400kms to a tank other times we get close to 600, so I guess it depends really. This car is fun to drive, I'd love to put it up against a '91 New Yorker. lol. Jul 25, 2008
