The 1990 Ford Bronco continued the pattern of steady sales to a defined market niche. The SUV revolution was still some years away, so the rugged two-door Bronco was not yet considered to have mass appeal.
The sturdy utility vehicle was offered as a two-door, four-wheel drive model only. Three trims were available, XLT, Eddie Bauer, and Custom; the Eddie Bauer models featured comfortable interiors and outdoorsy elegance, while the Custom trim was a little shinier, with more interior chrome.
The '90 Ford Bronco came off the line with a 4.9 liter 150-horsepower straight-six engine; buyers could upgrade to a choice of two V-8s.

The 1990 Bronco is a great vehicle for off roading and towing if the rear end leaf springs are stiffened up by adding leaves. This particular vehicle has a locker rear end awesome traction and great ground clearance. Has been with me for a very long time and I'm sentimetally attached to it regardless of it's few flaws. Ran great for 273,000 miles. My rear differential needs to be replaced as it failed far from home. the automatic 4x4 got me home without the need for a tow truck. It's going to be my Son's future project.Nov 26, 2013

1990 ford eddie bauer bronco
new engine, transmission, and differential. new suspension (bushings, sway bars, steering components) new Racho shocks, new wheels and tires, new window motors and weather stripping around (can roll down back window from dash). new custom intake and exhaust (cat/muffler). pioneer cd player w/ ipod connection/remote and 4 infinity speakers. also replaced plugs, distributor, alternator, starter, radiator, brakes...basically, everything under the hood has been replaced (ie sensors/switches). new tint. painted white 2 years ago (including under the hard top - which comes off easily). i love this truck and has been a project of mine for a while now and would rather keep it for weekends, but just moved to austin and don't have anywhere to store it. :(
it has been an everyday driver. pictures available on request.

Performance: 351W motor at about 250 crank HP, 310 torque
E4OD transmission...needs rebuild, but shifts firm
Dana 44 TTB front axle, wears badly on the outside of the tires
Ford 8.8 rear axle, backlash needs to be reset
Skyjacker class 1 6 inch lift: 6 inch blocks in the rear, dual shock conversion and 6 inch lift springs in the front
35/12.50R15 inch Dick Cepek FC-II radial tires, very good road life and excellent off road traction
American Eagle rims
Paint on driver side is good, tailgate and passenger side clear coat is peeling
Hood has dent above driver headlight
Interior is good, acid burn in carpet, driver seat is torn.
Only gets about 8 street and 13 highway MPG
Recently replaced heads, engine dress up kit, repainted TTB, replaced steering box
Very fun to drive, plenty of power for a 7800 lbs vehicle, outstanding offroad performance, good low range gear in t-case, NEVER been stuck
I do plan on building a mild 408W stroker motor, 78-79 Dana 60 SAS coil spring set up, Coperperate14 bolt rear end, Level 10 E4OD transmission, and maybe some new paint......Feb 11, 2011

351 had alot of torque and fair amount of HP. loved taking off from a stand still.
the bronco was the true definition of built tough.it can handle anything a stock truck can be faced with and more.
The truck was in great condition. May 24, 2010

It's a big truck and it's 4x4 with power windows, a/c, push bar and I can remove the cab in the summer time, as well as, pull anything with my hitch on the back. I love my truck. It is a lot of fun driving this truck, I don't have to worry about bottoming out. It needs alittle body work due to rusting but all in all next to the Jeep cj7 I used to own, this has got to be the best.Feb 06, 2010

Even though she's a roach, She's got a 6" suspension lift, sitting on 33's. I've got no complaints. I can run it through the woods all weekend long, and I love still being able to drive it to work on Monday. Jan 22, 2010

It got terrible gas mileage but if you need a people hauler you would find anything better. It needed repairs almost constantly which made it stupid expensive. But it was still a lost of fun to drive. You could stick that thing anywhere.Jul 24, 2009

This bronco was very good. It had a smooth ride and nice handling. It was my first vehicle and i loved it. It needed some work to make it look better, but overall it was a nice bronco. I had to get rid of it because i sunk it when i went off-roading and broke some major stuff.May 10, 2009

My Bronco, aka "the tater," aka "satan's chariot" gets me where I need to go at a stunning 9 mpg (11 highway). I actually spend more money renting cars than I do on the tater. But, it's peeling paint and collapsing interior make it safe to park anywhere, and to leave for long periods of time if necessary. The 4wd does come in handy on snoy Durango days, which is why I kkep it around.Aug 21, 2008

Love the truck but sometimes I think it's haunted. Although I still struggle with complicated fuel and exhaust systems, still generally runs well after some 17 years....Aug 09, 2007
Our truck has been sitting for over a year,so we put in new batt, drained out old fuel and repl fuel filter, cleaned out throttle body and we got it started, idles somewhat ok,but when we go to drive it , it seems to die out we have to fether the gas and brake to keep it running any suggestions
I have been stumped on the code 31. I have replaced both the egr and the egr sensor but I still I'm having code 31 come up. I have checked to see if they got power and they do so I don't know what is going on.
I’ve replaced alternator, battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, topped of all fluids, and she still won’t get up. She’ll crank till the battery dies but just won’t turn over. Getting close to giving up
Ok... i have my daddys 90 ford bronco. Yesterday while i was idled it just died. Would not crank but it would turn over. FINALLY got it to crank and while tryin to get home, it died goin down the road. Got it cranked again, made it home. When i tried to crank it again to move it, it made a "unnnk" sound when i turn the key and then again when i let off the key from tryin to crank it. It SOUNDED like it was comin from under the hood, maybe the drivers side.
