1990 Chevrolet Corvette Preview summaryImage

The 1990 Chevrolet Corvette is best remembered as being the base model for the new ZR-1, the "Super Corvette." After many production delays, the ZR-1 was released at a price hovering around the $60,000 mark, almost twice the sticker price for the base model. Dealers were rumored to be getting over 6 figures for some of these cars.

And what did consumers get for their double-Corvette price tag? The 3,049 owners lucky enough to be able to buy one received an all-new drive train; the all-aluminum 350-ci LT5 V8 went from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds and was rated at 375 horsepower. It was available only as a coupe, and had a wider tail section and wheels than the base model.

The base model for that year was a 5.7-liter 350-ci V8 rated at 245 horsepower.

This is a beautiful car and a great deal. The car looks well kept and doesn’t look 34 years old.Jul 21, 2024

Standard options. Looking for a 1990-1995 low milesage ZR-1 ZR-1 Corvette. Owned a 3k unmolested 1990 red/red ZR-1. Wanting another tokeep my 90 company. Dec 20, 2022

Most unique Corvette, engineered to be the forefront during it’s tenure. The only one to have the front of it raise forward to have access to the engine compartment. The ZR-1 was considered advanced enough to compete with the exotics of that time, at an affordable price. The parts for the C4 are plentiful and their prices are increasing rapidly. It’s design was very soft unlike it’s predecessor that was designed to look like a graceful stingray. Getting into it can be a challenge if you’re too tall or wide due to the interior’s design. There were so many made and so many were abused, so make sure the car has plenty of paperwork. Enjoy the hunt! Sep 12, 2022
