1987 xj6
My car runs and idles great but has no power when I try to drive it. It takes at least a block for it to get up to 20 mph. Any ideas what I can try?

I like that for a 28 year old car it runs good and the body is in great shape! This car can be restored and increase great value for the future. asically the same successful concept with squarer styling; simplified design for more consistent, higher-quality assembly; standard antilock brakes; and a wholly new drivetrain. The last combined the "AJ6" 3.6-liter 24-valve inline six (first test-marketed in the European XJ-S) and a new four-speed ZF automatic transmission with a unique "J-gate" selector providing manual-override capability. s quiet and smooth-riding as any previous XJ6, but lackluster performance prompted higher compression for 1988, producing small gains in horsepower and torque. Performance further improved via a stroked 4.0-liter replacement for 1990, when a revamped instrument panel appeared with analog minor gauges instead of vacuum-fluorescent bar-graphs.Apr 04, 2015

I have a 1987 Jag xj6 vanden plas, I recently got it running and the exhaust was white smoke and the temp. was way up....I had had problems with the radiator and replaced it but when I had the bad radiator, my dad's friend put stop leak in it and all the time the radiator was plugged, so my question is do you think it settled in the hoses because a creamy white substance was leaking from new radiator? Need major help with this not wanting to replace head gasket...thank you
over heating, bluish white smoke from exhaust and white creamy substance from radiator.
