The 1985 Ford F-150 was the first model in this line to offer fuel-injection technology. The 85 Ford F150 came off the line with a choice between a fuel-injected 5.0 liter Windsor V8 engine and the carburetor version of the Windsor V-8, as well as the diesel and straight-six choices.
"Have it your way" was the name of the game for the 85 Ford F-150. Buyers could choose their engines, their cab configurations (extended cab supercab was the roomiest of the 4-door setups, with 2-door cabs continuing in popularity), and their options packages. XL, XLT, and XLT Lariat were the trims available.

the five liter motor makes great power the way it is it handles well for a truck so far the cost to maintane has been low a few odds and ends but not bad for a 27 year old truckJul 23, 2012

i really like the straight 6 motor its got alot of power and acceleration it sounds really good with a glasspack. it will pull anything u hook it up too i would recommend this truck to anyone. ford the bestSep 12, 2011

its an 85 ford f150. 300inline 6 with 4 on the floor. its reliable thats all i can say its a ford built tough enough said. it dont dig holes in the mud but it plows threw it. yay fordApr 03, 2011

Great old low mileage (73000) work truck. The frailest part is the early FI. I only drive it about 7000/yr. AT A/C. Will drive it a lot of years yet. Suspension, brakes, shocks and steering has been freshened - drives real good for its vintage. Pulls car trailer easiley.Jan 19, 2011

1985 Ford F150 with a 302 under the hood. It's a 70's block apparently with a EFI system from the 90's on top. I paid $500 for it. Basically has all new tires around it until I get done burning them off to put my 31's on. It moves out pretty decent, stops better than the last one but it's an automatic and I get so bored driving it sometimes. It needs to be placed back in time and I gotta get rid of the spark knock in it before it gets beefed up at all.Oct 25, 2010

well i needed a vechical and picked this one up for $300. so i really cant grip to much bout the price. it sat for a few years before i got it and all i have to put in it was a battery and a fuel filter. and of course a radio and speakers to replace the factory turn knob and single dash speaker. Good on gas and plently of torque for off-roading. Good lookin truck and its cheap to fix( if you do it yourself). All the mechanical parts of the truck will last longer than your own life, and you can take it pretty much anywhere.Feb 24, 2010

AWESOM TRUCK!! The performace is great, because it has the 5.0 from a mustang. The build quality is typical 80s: cloth seats and bits of faux wood EVERYWHERE. The appearance is boxy, yet rugged. I tis very fun. I love it!Jan 07, 2010

problem with the fuel injection till i put
a chip to regulate the amount of fuel it
draws. The truck is as strong as an ox. I

Runs great, has an inline 6. pulls whatever i put it up to. i'm 16, great first truck:) paid 600 and put 2 grand into it. I'm thinking about putting a 460 in it so it sounds a lot more powerful. i love this truck though. definately worth what i paid.Dec 14, 2009

i love my 85 ford pick up. i am 18 and its my first vehicle and i couldnt have asked for a better one. my dad bought it from his dealership for 800 and put about 3 grand into it. (including magna flow and bigger tires)so the truck runs great and hasnt left me stranded yet. but it is only a 2wd which, where i live isnt very popular. i cant take it wheeling with my buddies but its still a keeper. I bought the truck cheap. And overall it hasn't been bad. However it seems to have a problem with overheating and cutting out. I was not really made aware of this when I bought it. I have tried to fix it but have been unsuccessful. I have more than got my use of it though. I let my father use it as a farm truck. Feb 04, 2008
