About 2 years ago I bought a 85 Chevy cavalier type 10 with the 2.0 in it. It drove fine for a bit but now after driving on the road or highway for about 10 minutes the car bogs down and stalls while in drive and starts to leak oil,once started again it stalls right away when it goes back into gear. Any ideas what might be causing this problem
I have a 1985 Chev Cavalier with the 2.0 tbi engine, it will start every time but it has a idling issue and it won't rev, it has all new spark and timing related parts and all new sensors,it's also not showing any codes, what's the is issue?
I have a 1985 Chevy cavalier automatic. I went out to warm it up and when I put it in reverse it dies and now it will turn over but won't stay running.
1985 Cavalier Type 10 2.8L FI. Battery went dead. Tried to jump it, turned over barely then died. Bought new battery. No response from starter, no clicking, no turnover. Bought and installed new Ignition Switch, same thing. H/Light, Interior lights work. No Radio, No turn Signals, No Heater Fan, No Power Seats, or Windows work, No Fuel Pump noise. I'm sure power is not getting to the Ignition Switch. What am I missing? I think the power is not getting from the Battery to the Ignition Switch. What is in between that could cause this?
does the 85 cav have a timing chain?
