series Land Rovers have incredible performance, not in 0-60 speed but in sheer grunt, power and applying that power to the road (or "surface" is a better term!) modern "4x4"'s may have more power, but that is pointless if you can't use it! Landys can turn their wheel to any function and are truly the world's ONLY "go-anywhere" vehicle. The build quality is solid and will outlive their owners, in fact most land rovers built are still in daily use, more than ANY other vehicle manufacturer. Handling is industrial, repairs are dirt cheap and amazingly easy, spare parts are available worldwide on every continent, there are people in mud huts in africa who can rebuild an entire landy in less than a week! Cost of ownership is probably the cheapest of any vehicle in production (provided you have an older tax-exempt vehicle) and insurance is dirt cheap too. Do an LPG conversion and your MPG's will be good as well. Appearance is purely funcitonal and distinctive, and the fun factor is off the charts! :DJan 10, 2010

Brilliant vehicle for fun off roading, goes anywhere and great for carrying many people. downside is no radio altho too noisy to hear one if it had one and no power steering so will build your arms up trying to drive it. oh and not cheap to tax it either haha.Jul 17, 2008
