its rough and tough. its gonna be what my wood hauler and i will pull trailer with it.
its a work in progress. it was made when they build good vehicles, new stuff is to
complicated and overpriced. built ford tough with a dana 60 rear and dana 44
straght axle front, and yes its a 3/4 ton with the same amount of springs as 1 ton.Nov 21, 2010

She is a beast and will go anywhere you need it to......the mud don't stop those 40inch tires.....she sure does love the gas though thats the only down fall 5 miles to a gallon gets old really quick.Sep 09, 2009

One of the most reliable trucks I've ever had, all
The original equipment still works from factory. A/C, radio, speedo and gauges, lights. Not a luxury vehicle but a good dependable work horse. Wouldn't ever trade for any other work truck.Nov 19, 2008

Been Around for 30 years. Dad bought it new in 78. Has a built 460 w/ C-6. Dana 60's F/R 4:10 Gears. Done everything you could think of and some you cant. Old Fords are the best Run Forever. Best Manufacturer. Fords forever. First On Race Day.Oct 28, 2008

Fuel in the air cleaner
I have a 1978 Ford F250 with a 351 Modified engine. I has the engine rebuilt professionally a year ago (about 6k miles). Recently, it started running rough and backfiring when accelerating hard. I changed the whole ignition system including installation of an HEI distributor, plugs, wires. It runs stronger, but still not right, like it's only running on 7 cylinders and still backfires when accelerating hard. I set the floats in the Edelbrock carb and adjusted the jets, and again, it runs better, but still weak and backfires on acceleration. I noticed yesterday that the air cleaner was soaked with raw fuel and then noticed it appears that it is spraying fuel mist out of the top of the carb rather than sucking it in. Any ideas, because I'm running out of them quickly and I hate to think something has failed in the motor...
