he 1974 Toyota Corolla was mostly unchanged from the previous year. Toyota included new, larger bumpers to meet federal standards.
The 1974 Toyota Corolla had a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter, 102 horsepower engine. It was available as a coupe, a wagon or a sedan. The sedan came in three trim levels: Standard, Deluxe, and Hi-Deluxe. The coupe was available in a Deluxe, SL, SR, and SR5.
Toyota was gearing up to introduce a new Corolla the next year, so the 1974 Corolla maintained its conservative, unshowy styling. Despite being not much to look at, the Corolla was becoming increasingly popular for its performance and value.

Good dynamics is another positive. Back in the day the rear wheel drive Corolla was no slouch when it came to handling and driving dynamics and was known as competent performers, especially in SR5 specification. The SR5 had additions such as a 5-speed manual, bolt on fender flares, wider wheels and tires, stiffer suspension and various cosmetic goodies. Combine all that with a peppy 1.6L overhead valve hemi head engine and you have a good foundation for a fun little corner carver for not all that much moneyJun 07, 2012

The KE20 Coupe was the cheapest, most reliable car that I could never kill. Had a re-built 1300cc and 5 speed in it that used to get it going. Even though it was small it made up for its in its steering and doing dounuts. I rate this a fun car!Sep 15, 2008
