This truck was driven from Cle Elum WA to Seattle 27 years ago and parked. The brakes were frozen when Cheech found it for me. The owner got sick shortly after he drove it home. All Day Towing, Mo, trailered it to my shop in Lynnwood for free because he loved the truck. I redid the brakes and got it rolling on three of four of the tube tires. One blew up when I tried to put air in it. That was exciting. It sounded just like in the movies. I cleaned the glass fuel filter, oiled the cylinders, replaced the points and condenser, and it fired right up. I greased the chassis checked the other fluids, and took her around the block. Fun.Jun 08, 2013

Love the simple yet timeless styling of this Chevrolet truck... The 283 V8 was a very reliable motor although notorious I'm told for cam failure. I have replaced the cam with an updated version of the original. This truck has never been tampered with and except for the wheels remains all original. It was the last year for the optional wood bed which I will replace. I plan to make it a daily driver for the non-winter months only... Can't wait to get "Ol' Blue" on the road again!Feb 20, 2011

Definitely tons of get-up-and-MOVE with a 402 and 4 on the floor. Capable of spinning tires through 3rd gear. The entire vehicle is very solidly built, it has had no problems except the starter motor and recently the steering box and horn, with close to 200,000 miles of towing a heavy trailer and hauling tons of wood. It does use quite a bit of gas, 10/12 when it's not hauling anything, and it's been as low as 5 or 6 mpg when moving heavy loads. It is a pretty fun to drive, but can be scary if the steering gear is loose. The engine is very responsive and the drive train is very smooth except when it is near a stall. The cab also allows excellent visibility all around the truck, and the large towing mirrors come in very handy in almost any situation.Jun 20, 2009
