1973 Chevrolet Blazer Preview summaryImage

The 1973 Blazer was the first of the second generation of Chevy's mid-size SUV. Primarily sold as an all-wheel drive vehicle (although still made as a rear-wheel drive until 1982), the off-roading vehicle remains popular.

The base engine remained a 4.1-liter, 250 I6. Two V8's were available: a 5.0-liter, 307-ci, and a 5.7-liter, 350-ci V8.

A Dana 20 or NP-205 transfer case allowed for part-time four-wheel drive on a rear wheel drive vehicle, while NP-203 had chain-driven part-time four wheel drive.

It's a unique ride, sure to get glances from most people. You're safe, about as much steel as a tank on this truck. Don't get one unless you like to tinker and are good with mechanical stuff. 'nuff saidMar 15, 2008
