I recently purchased a 1969 Olds 442. Changed oil and filter for the first time. Now have 6 quarts in the engine and dip stick still shows it OVER a quart low. I do not think engine is original to the car. It has a casting number 390925E which I am told is rare but I have not found out why. Visual inspection of the oil pan, it does not appear to be anything out of the ordinary. All the info available says capacity should be 5 quarts except Toranado which takes six. Can you help with this delema?
I am helping a friend finish the restoration of his 69 Olds 442 conv. Getting ready to fire the motor. Anybody know the intial timing for the 69' Olds 400?
