Contacted the salesperson in the morning telling him I would be by that day to test drive the car. He knew I was driving a bit of a distance. This was the second time I had gone there to test drive the car. The first time was on a Saturday and they were closed for Labor Day. So I arrived that afternoon and was told by the receptionist who spoke with the salesperson, that the car was sold the night before. I was very upset since I had told him that morning I would be by. Then he sends me an email afterwards saying the car had been sold that day. Not what he told the receptionist. Don't trust the salesperson, felt he just had me come to upsell me into something else. Won't look at another car at this dealership again.

I found the exact car I was looking for with a manual transmission at Briarwood Ford. I called on it as soon as it was listed. It had been getting a lot of attention so I put a deposit on the car and they took the listing down. The car suffered an accident on the lot (felled tree branch) so I had to wait a few weeks while it got painted. This was most likely covered by the dealership's own insurance. I drove 4.5 hours to Ann Arbor to come pickup the car once it was ready. I was told that it would be "Pristine" when it came back from the paint shop. Upon my first viewing of the car I had a sour feeling in my gut. The car was completely trashed. Scratches and dents everywhere, the inside looked like a barn animal lived in it. Nothing was done to the car at all. They marked the car up heavily and flipped it. I drove the entire way there and there were other interested buyers so I couldn't negotiate. It took me TWO DAYS to clean the car out. What a joke!! They are just after your money!

Good Follow-up

My salesman William was more than able to address a couple of issues that were not anticipated. He’s been very responsive when I’ve needed questions answered or explained. The experience thus far has been a good one and going forward I hope it’ll continue.
