The 2004 Corvette is the last production year for the C5 family. To celebrate the end of this era, Chevrolet offered a special C5 Commemorative Edition package for all trims, including the race-ready Z06. These packages feature special badging and special polished wheels.
Like other end-of-group Corvettes, this year's models have high anticipated future values for collectors and are therefore highly priced in the current trading market.

This is a great vehicle. It has great acceleration and it handles extremely well. I have always liked this body style on the corvette and will keep this car for around 24 months. I will make some mods to the body ,wheels and engine. Apr 02, 2015

Nothing to dislike. Great for long trips, getting over 30 MPG. The only 'Vette in the Columbia University faculty garage.
This is my daily driver but also used for family vacations. It always gets an appreciative nod from our friends.

This car is perfect in every way. Every time I drive it is a thrill. It handles great with lots of power. It is also comfortable and can be use for luxury as well. Car brake great as well. Lowered 1" to handle better & radio flyer head light for better looks and visibility.Dec 31, 2014

Like everything about this car. No dislikes at all. It is so much fun to drive. Runs fantastic. Love the white convertible top. The acceleration, braking and handling are amazing! There are no noises or blind spots. Never been in the shop yet. The gas mileage is reasonable. Maintenance and repair costs haven't been an issue yet. This was my "I survived Iraq", gift to myself. Very nice car, good gas mileage on the highway. still turns head after 10 years, fast and fun. This is the car you find yourself driving everywhere for no reason. I've driven this car from west coast to east coast, also did a couple of laps on Mazda Raceway (Laguna Seca). Very comfortable and fun ride. On the down side: once the key FOB battery died it cost about $200 to get it working again, however no one could seem to get it working; and just like the Viper there is a little engine heat in the cockpit. Not nearly as bad as the Viper. Overall a wonderful, good looking performance car.Jul 05, 2014

Love this car and think that the LS6 of 2004 is under-rated. This thing is scary fast. Gas milage is pretty good on the highway as long as you keep your foot out of it. This car is a very solid built one and I love it.Nov 11, 2013

Previously owned 1986 and 1993 Corvettes, and while I loved them both, the C5 is SO much more car, and much better appointed, than the C4's. The acceleration is unbelievable, and while many people slam the seats as uncomfortable, shabby and/or cheap, I find them to be very comfortable. The instrumentation is a vast improvement over the C4's cheap-looking digital mess. Took a recent road trip with it and averaged 26 mpg over a 700-mile trip -- not an economy car, no, but when you look at what it is and how it performs I think that's excellent. My two C4's got around 25, and this one's even better. Fun to drive? Are you kidding?Oct 12, 2013

First domestic car, and has been a great experience. Super reliable, fun to drive and runs with super cars. Love the power train, fantastic transmission and epic handling. Love the car so much that later on will most likely upgrade to a C6 Z06, because for the money, nothing touches the Z06.Jan 17, 2013

I love the lines, feel, power and attention it gets. Corvettes receive alot of attention and respect everywhere you go. Dislike that I have to sell because it's my primary vehicle and winters in Missouri are not for this car. :(Nov 01, 2012

overall this car is amazing. its very fast and reliable. the only thing that's annoying is the interior. the quality of the seat is terrible... other than that it is truly a blast to drive. grip that never gives up. great brakes and an excellent power train which is in my opinion grossly underrated.Jun 05, 2011

Acceleration, braking, handling is awsome.
Had all major services by Chevy dealer.
Interior and exterior styling is very cool.
Gas mileage 18/25,
maintenance is little expensive but thats a Corvette

I use this car for Autocross and love it!! Raced the Mustang Cobra before and my Subie STI before that (still use the Subie for RallyCross). It has great power, handling and just looks amazing! I made the mistake of taking up a fellow racers offer to race his and had to have one!Apr 19, 2010

Drove very nice, ride was a little harsh on bumps but that's expected in a real performance car. Had the optional Bose system; excellent speaker range, bass and treble. Seats were just okay. My first Vette and I just love it. Fit and finish is superior and performance is fantastic. Mileage is 18 around town and 24 on the highway. More than I expected out of a performance car. The great thing is that my wife also loves it! Looking towards going to my 1st Corvette show this weekend in November. I would recommend to anyone that loves sports cars to find a low mileage used C5 and enjoy! I was lucky to fine this 2004 with 2700 original miles.Nov 04, 2009

Performance is obviously amazing... the LS1 motor is so torquey. Braking is very strong, and it handles very well (especially with the Z51 package). The passenger side window had a problem but that's pretty common from sitting in a garage for too long, didn't cost anything to fix. The motor and transmission seem solid as well. It's gorgeous on the outside but the interior is so so. The gas mileage is very good. Probably about 20/29. Of course the car is fun to drive!Nov 03, 2009

This is my third corvette; 1980 bought new, 1992 six spd targa and my 2004 convertible. Hands down this is the best bang for the buck. There is absolutely no cowl shake and the car handles like it is on rails, with great acceleration. Jul 15, 2009

If i buy another vette then it will be with a manual transmission. All past vettes were manual so decided to try automatic on this one. 1 - With automatic trans i feel something is missing. 2nd, Don't like the ride when tranmission is in TOURING Mode; its too loose and car seems to skip/jump when making a turn on an uneven road. 3rd - Side mirrors are too small. Style and size need to be updated.

This is my husband's car. He loves Vettes--this is his 6th one. He just recently sold his classic '81... I like this one better because it is roomier inside and safer (i.e. airbags!). Lots of power, heads-up display make this a sweet driving car. I've only gotten to drive it twice :( BOSE stereo is nice when you are flying down the highway! Targa top is great in nice weather, and there is plenty of room in the back for a couple of bags when we head up to Tahoe for the weekend.Mar 22, 2008

the corvette is no longer just a car with lots of power, it's also become quite ravy. The breaks are great (and about the size of a family-pizza), the suspension is AWESOME and I love the head up display.
I also love the massive torque of the 5.7L V8 and its sound (it sounds not brashy but it roars deeply).

High Operating Temperature
My 2004 5.7 L. automatic always runs at 220 or higher. It sounds like this is normal/ok but seems too hot to me. What would happen with a cooler thermostat installed? Thanks.

I'm thinking to buy 2004 Corvette LS1
Trying to buy a Corvette I don't know exactly what to look for when inspecting or asking the dealer specific questions but I have asked few questions online just to get information. I read that the engine heats up quick with the Corvette 2004, I asked that question when he drove the car 6 hours from an auction in Florida to South Carolina He said: "Didn’t overheat temp gauge starts at 100 middle is 200 and tops at 280 it runs around 200 in city with all electric components on and A/C on high ran around 230 on highway cruising at 75mph with all electronics on and A/C on high and 220-225 at 65mph with no A/C on it ran around 205-210 " Are those healthy numbers for a 2004 Corvette LS1 automatic transmission (prefer automatic) with 105K on mileage on it? The car had four owners. Clean title. Also the car has "MODIFIED EXHAUST AND SUSPENSION NO CATS, CARBON VALVE COVERS AND CHROME VARARAM AIR INTAKE" I asked what's the horsepower it makes now or if it's been turned but he does not know. Any information any suggestions I would appreciate it!
