Overview
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is the off-roader for people who may occasionally leave the pavement, but are much happier cruising slowly to show off their ride. It’s got an insanely powerful V8 engine, an obnoxious exhaust note, and acceleration that rivals many sports cars. As with many AMG models, the G 63 gets a hand-built engine, and it’s capable of making the run from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. At the same time, the G63 is an incredibly competent off-roader that can tackle terrain many others can’t. That said, its six-figure price tag isn’t exactly conducive to hardcore rock crawling and other potentially damaging activities.
Key Features
- Handcrafted twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8
- 12-inch digital gauge cluster
- Surround-view camera
- Side-exit exhaust
- Dual 10-inch infotainment touchscreens
Pricing Details
The Mercedes-AMG G 63 starts at $179,000. That price tag buys the “basic” model, but the vast majority of features cost extra. Mercedes offers a plethora of paint colors, including several of its G Manufaktur custom colors, each of which can add thousands to the bottom line. Custom leathers, dramatic interior colors, performance upgrades, appearance packages, and more can drive the G-Wagen’s price north of $200,000 in a hurry. Used examples on CarGurus range from $40,339.00 to $88,964.00 with an average price of $49,861.35.
