Overview
The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S is the pinnacle of the C-Class sedan lineup, launched in the 2015 model year. If you could ever describe a Mercedes-Benz-based product as a “hot rod,” this would be it, with blistering acceleration, a hilarious exhaust note and power to spare. AMG cars have gotten progressively smaller displacement engines over the generations, yet with every passing year they seem to boost power. The AMG C 63 S manages to blast 503hp and 516-lb.ft. of torque out of a relatively tiny 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V-8, and channels power to the rear wheels through an AMG Speedshift MCT nine-speed automatic transmission. After a hiatus, the AMG C 63 is set to re-emerge for the 2024 model year.
