The Volkswagen Taos's current nationwide average price is $21,233, and its nationwide average price reached a low of $20,997 over the past year. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Volkswagen Taos a good car?

Yes — the Volkswagen Taos earns strong marks from owners for its roomy cabin, practical utility, and efficient everyday character. The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

Expert reviews rate the 2022 and 2023 models among the highest across all years.

The main tradeoffs center on the drivetrain, the infotainment experience, and overall value perception in some trims. Those concerns show up most clearly in the more recent expert-tested years, even as the Taos continues to stand out for space and practicality.

What Volkswagen Taos do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Taos years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

Higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they usually offer the broadest mix of prices, trims, and deal opportunities. That makes them easier to compare and often easier to shop confidently.

What is the Volkswagen Taos's resale value?

Prices are moving lower across every year shown, which is good news if you want to buy used. The steepest drops are in the newer model years, while the older and mid-cycle examples are falling more gradually. That pattern gives you several entry points if you want to balance price with age and equipment.

The 2023, 2024, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
