How much does the Nissan Sentra cost in today's market?

Used Nissan Sentra prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Nissan Sentra's current nationwide average price is $16,483, and its lowest point over the past year was $15,675. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the Nissan Sentra is a strong fit if you want a compact sedan that focuses on value, comfort, and everyday usability. The all-generations owner rating is 4.3/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the Sentra for its reliability, fuel efficiency, comfortable interior, smooth driving experience, and stylish design. Newer models also earn praise for their advanced safety features and technology, which helps the Sentra feel especially well-rounded for daily commuting.

Expert reviews rate the 2016 and 2026 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are its modest performance, tight rear-seat legroom in some recent years, and the way some trims prioritize comfort and tech over driving excitement. Even so, the Sentra remains an appealing used buy if you want a practical sedan with strong value and broad everyday appeal.

34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Nissan Sentra models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the Sentra’s reliability, fuel efficiency, comfortable cabin, and easygoing daily-driving character. Across the model years, it also earns praise for smooth operation, practical value, and a straightforward ownership experience.

• Owners rate the Nissan Sentra between 3.7 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally tied more to condition, maintenance history, and model-year differences than to the Sentra nameplate itself.

What Nissan Sentra do most buyers choose?

The Nissan Sentra years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Those higher-volume model years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of availability, newer features, and familiar pricing. When inventory is deeper, you also get more chances to compare trims and find a better deal.

What is the Nissan Sentra's resale value?

Most Sentra model years are down year over year, which is good news if you are shopping used and want prices that have softened. The biggest drops are concentrated in older and mid-cycle years, while the newest recent models are declining more gradually. That pattern gives you several opportunities to find value without giving up on newer features.

The 2023, 2025, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
