My new Armada has certainly exceeded my expectations! It has such a smooth ride and the ProPilot assist makes it feel so safe and easy. So far, there has been no technical glitches and zero rattling of any kind.

The Nissan Armada is a big, sturdy, body-on-frame SUV that competes with vehicles like the Chevy Tahoe and the Ford Expedition.
What’s New for the 2023 Nissan Armada
This generation of the Nissan Armada dates back to 2017. Although there are no changes or updates for the 2023 model, recent years have gotten tech and safety upgrades, and the exterior styling was refreshed in 2021. Otherwise, the Armada’s powertrain, trim lineup, and interior options and features have remained fairly consistent over the past seven years.
Design
High-riding and slab-sided, the Nissan Armada looks every bit the traditional body-on-frame SUV that it is. It’s not particularly attractive, but it’s less awkward-looking than its Infiniti sibling. For a couple of thousand dollars, the Armada SL model can be fitted with the Midnight Edition package, for blacked-out exterior and interior trim.
Powertrain
The Armada is smooth and powerful, though handling can be awkward and fuel economy is below average. Every Armada gets a 5.6-liter V8 engine rated for 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) comes standard, and four-wheel drive (4WD) is available across the lineup. The EPA rates the Armada at 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway with RWD and 13 city/18 highway with 4WD.
Interior
Nissan offers the Armada in seven- or eight-passenger configurations, with either second-row captain’s chairs or a bench. Standard seating features include power-adjustable front seats and cloth upholstery. Numerous upholstery options, heated and cooled front seats, heated second-row seats, and a heated steering wheel are available. Overall, the interior is comfortable, and the first two rows are spacious enough for adults. The Armada falls short of rivals in terms of cargo space, with just 16.5 cubic feet behind the third row—some midsize sedans have larger trunks than this. There’s 92.6 cubic feet available with all seats folded down, though.
Technology
The 2023 Armada comes standard with a 7-inch digital instrument display, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wired Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, navigation, four USB ports, and keyless entry. Tech upgrades on offer include remote start, wireless smartphone charging, a second-row entertainment system, a Bose premium audio system, and Amazon Alexa.
Safety
The 2023 Nissan Armada has not been fully crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Nissan equips every Armada with a reversing camera, forward collision warning, reverse collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, driver-attention monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-seat alert system.
Pricing
The 2023 Nissan Armada is available now at Nissan dealerships, and it’s currently the most affordable SUV in its class. As of this writing, Nissan lists pricing for the base Armada S at $50,400 plus the destination fee. The SV trim costs $54,950, the SL costs $58,370, and the Platinum costs $66,720. Across the lineup, 4WD costs an additional $3,000.
