How much does the Mercedes-Benz GLE cost in today's market?

Used Mercedes-Benz GLE prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Mercedes-Benz GLE's current nationwide average price is $46,595, and its lowest point over the past year was $45,410. Recently, prices have come down for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the Mercedes-Benz GLE earns strong marks from owners for its comfort, style, spaciousness, and strong performance across the range. The all-generations owner rating is 4.7/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the GLE for its premium cabin, advanced technology, and family-friendly practicality. Across the model years, the recurring themes are a luxurious feel, a roomy interior, and a broad spread of powertrains that lets you choose between efficiency and serious performance.

Expert reviews rate the 2024 and 2021 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are a high price, styling that can feel polarizing, and steering and suspension tuning that leans away from sporty precision. For used buyers, that means the GLE makes the most sense if you value comfort, features, and upscale presence more than sharp handling.

35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Mercedes-Benz GLE models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently point to the GLE’s comfort, premium feel, and strong feature content as major strengths. Across the model years, it also earns praise for its spacious cabin and broad appeal as a luxury SUV.

• Owners rate the Mercedes-Benz GLE between 3 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking service history carefully and focusing on well-maintained examples, especially on older models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, traffic-sign and speed-limit recognition, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
• Infotainment: Mercedes’ Superscreen display with three individual 12.3-inch screens, plus the MBUX infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: 23 mpg combined (21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway) for the turbo-four GLE 350 4Matic and 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway) for the turbo-six GLE 450 4Matic.

Which Mercedes-Benz GLE trim should I buy?

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE offers these trims:

• GLE 350 4Matic: Best if you want the entry point with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, 255 horsepower, and standard all-wheel drive.
• GLE 450 4Matic: The best-value trim for many shoppers, adding the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 hp and 413 lb-ft, plus the same standard nine-speed automatic and 4Matic AWD.

What Mercedes-Benz GLE do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz GLE years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, color, and price. They also sit close enough to the newest models to keep a lot of the modern luxury and tech buyers want.

What is the Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

Most model years are down by double digits, which creates opportunities for used buyers looking for a luxury SUV at a lower entry price. The steepest drops are concentrated in several recent and mid-cycle years, while a few years are falling more slowly. That makes the GLE a model where timing can matter, especially if you’re shopping newer examples.

The 2026, 2019, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
