New Mercedes-Benz E-Class for Sale nearJackson Heights, NY

How much does the Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost in today's market?

Used Mercedes-Benz E-Class prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class's current nationwide average price is $27,630, and its lowest point over the past year was $25,340. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has a strong all-generations owner rating and a long-running reputation for luxury, comfort, and refined driving. The all-generations owner rating is 4.6/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the E-Class for its smooth ride, upscale interiors, and strong performance, and they also highlight its advanced technology and elegant styling. Expert reviews reinforce that appeal by describing the model as a benchmark luxury car with comfort, space, and a polished sense of occasion.

Expert reviews rate the 2024 and 2021 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs across recent years center on high ownership costs, some infotainment glitches, and safety equipment that can depend on configuration. Even so, the E-Class remains a compelling used luxury choice if you want a car that feels substantial and sophisticated.

33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Mercedes-Benz E-Class models reliable?

Owners consistently describe the Mercedes-Benz E-Class as comfortable, refined, and well-equipped, with strong praise for its luxury feel and driving experience. Expert feedback across the years also points to a polished cabin, smooth ride quality, and a broad range of appealing powertrains.

• Owners rate the Mercedes-Benz E-Class between 4.6 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking maintenance history closely, especially on older examples where repair costs can become significant.

What should I look for when buying a used Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Across all model years, at 69.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: Fully charge the battery, and the E 53 wagon returns an EPA-rated 41 miles of electric range. It’s also rated at 22 mpg combined in hybrid mode. We saw an indicated high of 44 miles of range with a fully charged battery and an average of 22.9 mpg when exclusively using the gasoline engine.

Which Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers these trims:

• E 450 All-Terrain: The less-expensive wagon starts at $79,650 and features a more rugged look, technology that can assist with light off-road travel, and a height-adjustable Airmatic air suspension. It suits you if you want the more practical, lower-priced wagon.
• AMG E 53 Hybrid: This performance upgrade starts at $94,700 and adds the plug-in hybrid powertrain, AMG-tuned hardware, and a height-adjustable Airmatic air suspension. It suits you if you want the quickest, most performance-focused wagon, and it is the best-value pick if you want the strongest blend of speed and technology.

What Mercedes-Benz E-Class do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class years with the most listings are 2018, 2015, and 2019.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread, and more chances to find the right trim and condition. They also sit in the sweet spot where the E-Class’s luxury features are still appealing while used pricing is often more approachable than on newer models.

What is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The biggest drops are concentrated in newer and mid-cycle examples, while a few older years are declining more slowly.

The 2016, 2019, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class safe?

• 2026: 8/10
• 2024: 8/10
• 2022: 10/10
• 2021: 10/10
• 2020: 10/10
• 2018: 10/10
• 2014: 6/10

For the safest used buy, the 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022 models all post the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Mercedes-Benz E-Class now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −4.84% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −8.11%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $22,794. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers a refined cabin, a smooth ride, and a strong sense of luxury that make it especially appealing as a used buy.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The heart of this PHEV is a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine paired with a 120-kilowatt electric motor and 21.2-kilowatt-hour battery. The motor makes 161 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, and total system output, including the turbo six, measures 577 hp and 553 lb-ft (604 hp with Race Start active).
• Tech: As expected, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with an augmented reality navigation system, music streaming, and a sensational Burmester 4D surround-sound system with Dolby Atmos technology.
• Safety: However, the optional Driver Assistance Package adds 16 additional systems for a reasonable additional cost. Among them are adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring, active intersection assist, active emergency stop assist, active lane-change assist, active lane-keep assist, and active steering assist.
• Starting price: The subject of this review, the AMG E 53 Hybrid is the performance upgrade, with a base price of $94,700, including destination.

If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
