New Mercedes-Benz E-Class for Sale nearEast Islip, NY

How much does the Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost in today's market?

Used Mercedes-Benz E-Class prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class's current nationwide average price is $27,594, and its nationwide average price reached a low of $25,304 over the past year. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a strong used luxury pick if you want comfort, space, and a polished driving experience. The all-generations owner rating is 4.6/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the E-Class for its luxurious interiors, smooth ride, and strong performance, and the model’s elegant styling and advanced technology come up often as well. Across the lineup, you also see recurring praise for comfort, premium cabin feel, and the way the car blends everyday usability with a sense of occasion.

Expert reviews rate the 2024 and 2021 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are higher ownership costs, some technology that can take time to learn, and a few years where safety equipment is more limited unless you choose the right package. Even so, the E-Class remains a compelling used buy if you value refinement and a premium feel over bargain pricing.

33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Mercedes-Benz E-Class models reliable?

Owners and experts consistently describe the E-Class as a well-built luxury car with a comfortable ride, strong performance, and a premium cabin. Across the model years in the data, the strongest feedback centers on refinement, luxury, and the car’s upscale driving experience.

• Owners rate the Mercedes-Benz E-Class between 4.6 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is most worth watching on older, higher-mileage examples, where maintenance costs and age-related wear can matter more.

What should I look for when buying a used Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Across all model years, at 68.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Driver Assistance Package with adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring, active intersection assist, active emergency stop assist, active lane-change assist, active lane-keep assist, active steering assist, automatic lane change capability, evasive steering assist, congestion emergency braking, and Pre-Safe collision preparation for rear and side impacts.
• Infotainment: MBUX infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, augmented reality navigation, music streaming, and a Burmester 4D surround-sound system with Dolby Atmos technology.
• Fuel efficiency: 41 miles of electric range and 22 mpg combined in hybrid mode.

Which Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers these trims:

• E 450 All-Terrain: The less-expensive wagon, starting at $79,650, with a more rugged look and technology that can assist with light off-road travel.
• AMG E 53 Hybrid: The performance upgrade, starting at $94,700, with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, AMG-enhanced hardware, and a focus on rapid paved-road driving.

What Mercedes-Benz E-Class do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class years with the most listings are 2018, 2017, and 2015.

Higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more listings to compare, which can make it easier to find the right color, mileage, and equipment mix. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and more approachable pricing.

What is the Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

Most model years in the E-Class lineup are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want more value for your money. The newer models are also seeing meaningful price drops, so recent years can be more approachable than they were a year ago. The smallest declines are concentrated in the older and newest ends of the range, while several mid-cycle years have fallen more sharply.

The 2016, 2014, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Buy now if:

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine pairs with a 120-kilowatt electric motor and 21.2-kilowatt-hour battery, and the wagon returns an EPA-rated 41 miles of electric range and 22 mpg combined in hybrid mode.
• Tech: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with an augmented reality navigation system and a Burmester 4D surround-sound system with Dolby Atmos technology.
• Safety: The latest model adds the Driver Assistance Package with adaptive cruise control, active blind-spot monitoring, active lane-change assist, active lane-keep assist, active steering assist, and automatic lane change capability.
• Starting price: The AMG E 53 Hybrid starts at $94,700.

If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
