The 2023 Lincoln Nautilus is a comfortable two-row midsize luxury SUV. Whereas many luxury brands offer plenty of performance, the Nautilus trades in cabin comfort and a serene ride.

What’s New for the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus

The Lincoln MKX was rebranded as the Nautilus in 2019, mercifully eschewing Lincoln’s confusing alphanumeric naming convention. In 2021, it featured an updated interior design and new technology. For 2023, the changes are minimal and only include a new Premium Package.

Design

Given the age of the MKX platform (which has 2016 origins), Lincoln has done an impressive job keeping the Nautilus looking fresh and contemporary, inside and out. The front end incorporates the signature Lincoln grille, flanked by rakish headlights.

Powertrain

The base engine in the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus is a turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower. Optional on the Reserve and standard on the Black Label is a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that puts out 335 horsepower. Both engines route power through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The four-cylinder engine can be paired with front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The V6 comes standard with AWD. The most efficient configuration is the turbo-four with FWD. It returns fuel economy of 21 mpg city, 26 highway, and 23 combined.

Interior

Trims for the 2023 Nautilus are Standard, Reserve, and Black Label. The Standard trim comes equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, synthetic leather upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Reserve trim adds a panoramic sunroof, wireless device charging, and genuine leather upholstery. It also adds a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. The range-topping Black Label trim adds the upgraded powertrain, as well as an adaptive suspension system.

The Nautilus provides up to 68.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. With the rear seats in use, the Nautilus still provides a useful 37.2 cubic feet of cargo space. The Reserve trim comes with a power lift gate.

Technology

The Nautilus comes equipped with an intuitive 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is easy to use and includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Nautilus also features a fully digital instrument panel, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and remote start. Buyers can also select one of two Revel premium stereo systems (13-speaker or 19-speaker).

Safety

Lincoln provides a number of standard driver-assistance features in the Nautilus. These include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Nautilus is available with safety features such as adaptive cruise control, parking assist, a 360-degree parking camera system, and front parking sensors.

Pricing

As of this writing, the 2023 Lincoln Nautilus has a base MSRP of $44,825 for a Standard trim. A Reserve trim starts at $51,040 and the range-topping Black Label trim starts at $67,245. The Lincoln Nautilus is backed by a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty.
