How much does the Lexus LX cost in today's market?

Used Lexus LX prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Lexus LX's current nationwide average price is $67,271, and over the past year it reached a low of $67,271. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023 and 2024 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Lexus LX a good car?

Yes — the Lexus LX earns strong marks from owners for its comfort, luxury, powerful performance, and off-road capability. The all-generations owner rating is 4.7/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners repeatedly praise the LX for its durable, go-anywhere character, quiet ride, and upscale cabin. The strongest recurring trade-offs are fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and technology that can feel less intuitive than the rest of the vehicle’s premium experience.

The main trade-offs buyers should weigh are poor fuel economy, unintuitive technology, and less interior space than some rivals.

29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Lexus LX models reliable?

Owners consistently describe the Lexus LX as durable, comfortable, and capable, with a strong reputation for long-term toughness and a quiet ride. Expert coverage also reinforces its reputation for serious off-road hardware and a well-developed luxury setup.

• Owners rate the Lexus LX between 4 and 5 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is making sure you choose a well-maintained example, since repair and upkeep costs can be meaningful on a large luxury SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used Lexus LX?

Across all model years, at 73% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2022 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.5
• Infotainment: dual-screen infotainment system with a 12.3-inch upper touchscreen and 7-inch lower touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated fuel economy of 19 mpg combined (17 mpg city, 22 mpg highway)

Which Lexus LX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus LX offers these trims:

• Lexus LX: The base trim starts at $88,245 and gives you the redesigned LX foundation, standard all-wheel drive, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 suite; it is the best-value starting point if you want the core LX experience without moving up the ladder.
• LX Premium: This trim adds more equipment for buyers who want a richer luxury setup while staying below the upper trims.
• LX F Sport: This trim adds a black mesh grille, model-specific 22-inch wheels, an F Sport steering wheel, shifter and sport seats, plus exclusive Ultra White exterior and Circuit Red interior colors.
• LX Luxury: This trim adds a higher-end feature set for shoppers who want a more upscale daily driver.
• LX Ultra Luxury: This trim starts at $127,345 and brings the most complete equipment set, with every feature from the lower trims included as standard.

What Lexus LX do most buyers choose?

The Lexus LX years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

The highest-volume model years tend to be the easiest to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can help you find the right trim, color, and price. They also tend to be the years most shoppers are cross-shopping, so they often become the most visible used picks.

What is the Lexus LX's resale value?

Both model years show price declines, which is helpful if you are shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The changes are fairly close in size, so neither year is showing a dramatically different resale pattern from the other. Overall, the table points to a market where recent LX models have eased in price rather than moved upward.

The 2023 and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Lexus LX safe?

• 2022: 7/10

The LX’s safety story is anchored by a strong suite of driver aids on the 2022 redesign, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and traffic sign recognition.

For the safest used buy, the 2022 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.

Should I buy a used Lexus LX now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2024 model is at −8.1% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −6.99%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 35.4% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 35.1%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $89,379. The Lexus LX offers a distinctive blend of rugged capability and upscale comfort that makes it appealing if you want one SUV to handle both daily driving and tougher terrain.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: One of the major changes for 2022 is a switch from the previous-generation LX’s naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8 to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 shared with the Toyota Tundra pickup truck. Coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel drive (4WD) with low range (F Sport models get a Torsen limited-slip differential), the V6 makes 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.
• Tech: In contrast, the 2022 model gets a dual-screen infotainment system, with a 12.3-inch upper touchscreen and 7-inch lower touchscreen in an unusual nested arrangement. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless phone charging, and Apple Music and Amazon Music integration are standard as well.
• Safety: The LX comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 group of driver aids, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering.
• Starting price: Pricing starts at $88,245 for the base trim level.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
