Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, and a 360-degree camera system
• Infotainment: Jaguar Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment system with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.4-inch touchscreen
• Fuel efficiency: 21 mpg combined (19 mpg city, 22 mpg highway) for the turbo-four engine, and 21 mpg combined (18 mpg city, 24 mpg highway) for the six-cylinder mild-hybrid powertrain

Which Land Rover Discovery trim should I buy?

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery offers these trims:

• Discovery S: the entry trim brings the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, 4WD, leather seats, and the 12.3-inch instrument cluster/11.4-inch touchscreen setup; it suits you if you want the core Discovery experience at the lowest price.
• Discovery R-Dynamic S: this adds the R-Dynamic appearance treatment, including a gloss black grille and other exterior trim, plus two-tone leather upholstery with contrast stitching; it’s the best-value choice if you want a more distinctive look.
• Discovery R-Dynamic HSE: this trim adds the most upscale presentation in the lineup and is the top choice if you want the most premium version of the 2021 Discovery.

What Land Rover Discovery do most buyers choose?

The Land Rover Discovery years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, mileage, and price combination. They also tend to attract shoppers who want newer features and broader selection in the used market.

What is the Land Rover Discovery's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down by double digits, which creates better opportunities for used buyers. The steepest drops are concentrated in the newer years, while the older entries show somewhat smaller declines. That pattern suggests you can find meaningful value across the lineup, especially if you’re open to a model year that has already absorbed a large share of its price drop.

The 2018, 2022, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Land Rover Discovery safe?

• 2021: 6/10
• 2017: 8/10

Standard driver-assist tech includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic-sign recognition, and a 360-degree camera system.

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Land Rover Discovery now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:
