Customer summary
The Kia Sportage has long been a popular choice among owners for its comfort, spaciousness, and impressive array of features across all model years. Many drivers appreciate the stylish design, smooth handling, and strong performance, particularly in the all-wheel-drive variants. However, some reviewers have noted concerns about certain limitations, such as engine noise, rear legroom, and gas mileage compared to competitors. Overall, it's seen as a reliable, family-friendly SUV that offers great value for money.

We were able to get a good price for a vehicle with a smooth and comfortable ride. We compared against the KIA Seltos, Toyota Corolla across and RAV 4

Good vehicle and features for the price. Does not have heated steering wheel, air conditioned seats, and 360 view camera, but also a few thousand cheaper so Im happy.

Pros: Smooth and quiet ride as long as windows are up. Good price for all the features on the vehicle in the lower trims. Lots of room in back and trunk. Cons: Quality of workmanship does not match Honda and Toyota. Interior has too much hard plastic which don’t align smoothly in some areas. Factory paint job also very poor. Engine loud outside when idling.

Kia Sportage test drive
overall
The long-running Kia nameplate gets another update for the 2026 model year.
No model demonstrates Kia’s growth like the Sportage compact crossover SUV. The nameplate has been around since Kia’s early days in the United States, and has evolved into a true rival for popular crossovers like the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Toyota RAV4. The current-generation Sportage was introduced for the 2023 model year; it gets revised styling for 2026.
Verdict: The refreshed Sportage arrives with the competent execution we’ve come to expect from Kia, but the X-Pro Prestige model doesn’t live up to the brand’s reputation for value.
