Key things to evaluate:

• Infotainment: 2025 Sorento models have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2025 Sorento LX and S return up to 26 mpg in combined driving, while the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder is rated at 23 mpg in combined driving and the Sorento X-Pro SX Prestige averaged 23.4 mpg during evaluation.

Which Kia Sorento trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia Sorento offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim uses the 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder and eight-speed automatic, and it suits budget-focused shoppers who want the Sorento’s core size and utility.
• S: This trim keeps the base powertrain and adds a step up in equipment for buyers who want a little more comfort and convenience without moving up the ladder.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves to the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder and can add the X-Line appearance package.
• SX: This trim adds the turbocharged engine and can be paired with the X-Line package, making it a strong choice if you want more power and a more upscale feel.
• SX Prestige: This trim adds the turbocharged engine, comes standard with X-Line, and brings a more premium presentation.
• X-Pro SX Prestige: This top trim adds unique matte-black 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, enhanced utility roof rails, exclusive bumper covers, and towing capacity up to 4,500 pounds.

What Kia Sorento do most buyers choose?

The Kia Sorento years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right trim, mileage, and price combination. They also sit in a sweet spot where newer features and broader availability overlap.

What is the Kia Sorento's resale value?

Most Sorento model years are down year over year, which is good news if you are shopping used and want to benefit from softer pricing. The declines are especially pronounced in several recent and mid-cycle years, while a few newer examples are falling more slowly. Overall, the table points to a market that is giving buyers more room to negotiate.

The 2023, 2016, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest Sorento pairs a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, while the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
• Tech: The latest Sorento has a 24-inch panoramic display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Digital Key technology, and a digital rearview mirror.
• Safety: The latest Sorento adds Highway Driving Assist 2 with lane-changing functionality on SX and SX Prestige trim, along with a camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor and a surround-view camera system.
• Starting price: The base Sorento LX starts at less than $35,000.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
