What’s New for the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe

The Santa Fe has been completely redesigned for the 2024 model year. Its new layout now makes it possible for three-row seating to come standard.

Design

The 2024 Santa Fe features a radical new design that is futuristic but also underscores the vehicle’s inherent versatility and capability. It has sharp edges, clean lines, a bold light bar in the grille, and new signature “H-pattern” headlights. At the time of the new Santa Fe's debut, Hyundai announced the Calligraphy and XRT trims, though more will likely be offered when it arrives. The Santa Fe will be available with 21-inch wheels, likely for the Calligraphy. The XRT is new to the Santa Fe lineup for 2024 and features more rugged styling, as well as 30-inch all-terrain tires, black roof rails, and an additional 1.5 inches of ground clearance.

Powertrain

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe comes equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It makes 277 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped with the available tow package, the Santa Fe XRT can tow up to 4,500 pounds. The Santa Fe will also be offered as a hybrid, covered as a separate model.

Interior

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe boasts a spacious, airy cabin rivaling the presentation of some luxury SUVs. The Santa Fe is available with Hyundai’s new Relaxation Comfort Seat with Leg Rest. It is designed to put first-row passengers in a relaxed seating position that simulates weightlessness. The Santa Fe has maximum seating for up to seven occupants with a second-row bench or six passengers if you opt for the second-row power-reclining captain’s chairs. Both first- and second-row passengers can access the “bilateral, multi-console” storage space.

The new Santa Fe offers 40.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row of seats. That’s an improvement of 4.1 cubic feet. The rear cargo opening is also 5.7 inches larger.

Technology

The dash is dominated by a massive curved bezel that’s home to the fully digital instrument panel and touchscreen infotainment system with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Santa Fe also provides fast-charging USB-C ports, as well as second- and third-row USB ports. It’s available with a Bose 12-speaker premium stereo system, dual wireless charging pads, and even a UV-C sterilization compartment in the glove box.

The infotainment system and other vehicle functions benefit from over-the-air (OTA) updates, so you don’t have to drive to a service center for tech updates. The Santa Fe also provides digital key capabilities and a smartphone app that works with near-field communication (NFC).

Safety

The 2024 Santa Fe boasts plenty of standard and available driver-assistance features, such as forward collision avoidance assist, lane-follow assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, and a new Forward Attention Warning feature that uses an infrared camera on the steering wheel to monitor the driver’s eyes. The available Highway Driving Assist follows the vehicle in front of it while maintaining flow in the lane of traffic. The Santa Fe also offers a 360-degree parking camera system, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assistance, intelligent speed limit assist, and Safe Exit Assist, which can alert occupants to oncoming traffic before they step out of the vehicle.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, pricing for the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has not yet been announced. The Santa Fe will be available in early 2024.
