The Hyundai Palisade landed alongside its cousin, the Kia Telluride, in 2019 and became a top-seller almost immediately. It’s received a facelift since then, but its styling remains more upscale than the beefier, more muscular Kia Telluride's.

What’s New for the 2024 Hyundai Palisade

Hyundai introduced a new Calligraphy Night Edition trim for 2024, which brings blacked-out trim and a black leather interior. The automaker also added a few new features to other trims, including dual-zone automatic climate controls for the base SE and window shades for the XRT trim.

Design

The 2024 Palisade’s styling is somewhat polarizing, as its look is less traditional than the Kia Telluride's. The headlights are split into a lower housing, with a large LED daytime running light that runs the length of the side front fascia. The large grille features a blocky design and comes with chrome or other finishes, depending on the trim level. The Night Edition adds black trim, including a gloss-black grille.

Powertrain

Hyundai offers one engine choice for the 2024 Palisade, and no hybrid options are available. The 3.8-liter V6 delivers 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Power reaches the front or all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Though the Palisade is available with muscular off-road styling in the XRT trim, it’s far better on the pavement cruising calmly to the kids’ school or the mall.

Interior

The Palisade seats seven or eight, depending on the interior configuration. Top trims’ captain’s chairs offer more space in the second row, but they also cut seating capacity. The space is otherwise nicer than expected, with standard cloth upholstery and available leather seating with Nappa leather at the top level. Heated front seats come with all but the base trim, and ventilated seats become standard with the Limited trim.

Technology

Hyundai equips a 12.3-inch touchscreen in all models, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. Other standard tech features include HD radio, SiriusXM radio, a rear-seat quiet mode, voice recognition, USB ports across the first and second rows, and multiple device connections via Bluetooth. Wireless charging, a surround-view monitor, and a 630-watt Harman Kardon sound system are available.

Safety

Adaptive cruise control with stop and go, intelligent speed limit assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-following assist, lane-keeping assist, driver-attention monitoring, safe-exit assist, parking sensors, and forward collision warnings with pedestrian and cyclist detection come standard. The 2024 Palisade hasn’t been crashed yet, but the 2023 model earned a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and the new model should repeat that performance.

Pricing

Pricing for the 2024 Hyundai Palisade starts at just under $38,000. The mid-range XRT trim starts at around $43,000, and the top Calligraphy Night Edition starts at just under $55,000. Those prices represent a slight increase over the value-forward pricing we saw when the Palisade was new, but it's still a relative value in the segment.
