Happy to be back in an EV after a bit of a hiatus. Happy I won’t need to go to the gas station. The car is spacious. Love the head room, rear seat room and cargo space. Love the paddle shifters to dial in the regen level. The acceleration is great and the ride so smooth. The suspension is a bit floaty and I’d prefer it tighter.

Plenty of room front and rear with lots of cargo space, this is a great family car. The style may be a little out there for some. The fast charge is great, range is good across all models, and Hyundai offers a great warranty!

Many automakers have had a tough time launching electric vehicles, as teething problems have resulted in build-quality issues, gremlins, and production delays. Hyundai, however, got it right from the start with the Ioniq 5. Not only did this compact crossover nail the basics, it has also struck a chord for its stylish looks, fast charging capability, good range, and practicality.
Verdict: Five years into its run, the Ioniq 5 is still the electric vehicle we would recommend to most EV buyers. A drive around Hyundai’s factory in Savannah, Georgia, only reinforced our position.
